Hi everyone, I was trying to remove a broken barrel adjuster from the rear derailleur of my bike. I thought this is easily going to be done with a screw extractor, but it broke inside. Am I cooked?
Thread is M4 and open on both side, tip of the extractor and part of the barrel adjuster (no 4 in last picture) are still in there.

I want to replace the middle chainring on a vintage Mountainbike. The crankset is a FC-MT60, it is a 7 speed. I can't really find any affordable NOS or good shape vintage replacement.
To be completely honest, I do not know, to what I need to pay attention here. My questions are
- So the number of bolts and the BCD have to stay the same, but what about the number of teeth?
- Does it need to be specifically a middle one?
- Is it important that it is designed for a 7 speed?
and finally
- Is there any fundamental literature/blog, that will enable me to understand everything well enough that I can figure this out myself?
