In defense of RE Requiem and LMDF
My first run on Modern difficulty was 15 hours. I still struggle on Rank 2 on LMDF despite having all the upgrades. Horror games scare the crap out of me, and I get frustrated with failure especially if the game is too condescending.
Despite all this, Requiem and LMDF are still addictive to me. This is the perfect trial-and-error (hence survival horror) game, and I breezed through Classic Hard. I'm still struggling on LMDF Rank 2, but I learned how to quickly dispose of the zombies without taking ANY damage. This game is improving my skills with shooters on a controller. Heck, I'm willing to say that I'm addicted to my improvements!
I also learned to treat LMDF as a round of Slay the Spire (no joke), and the mode made so much more sense that I easily beat Rank 1 right away. EDIT: For those unfamiliar with Slay the Spire, it's a roguelike card game that taught me that I love roguelikes. Hades is another good roguelike.
Maybe this just isn't the right game for some people, and I get that. But I'm clocking over 50 hours and still having a blast with the game! Bring on the extra games!
