I've just been accepted into TU Darmstadt and would probably have to bike from when I live to campus every day since public transport takes double the time as biking.

I do have to carry my instrument from time to time, so I've settled on an E bike. However, I've also heard horror stories from both students at the TU as well as locals that bike theft is a huge issue in Darmstadt.

So, question: Is it generally safe to lock the bike at the bike posts on campus? And what locks / how many locks do you guys use for e bike storage?
