Hi!

I am planning to purchase tickets to surprise my boyfriend with a holiday to Budapest next year and to watch the F1 in Hungary.

I have looked into getting them from the Hungaroring website which seems the best way to buy tickets. From what I can gather I think my boyfriend would prefer general admission because he’d want to be there the whole weekend and be able to move around the circuit each day (e.g viewing practice and qualifying from different areas, not moving around during the race!)

My questions are:

When do tickets go on sale? Will it be as soon as the 2026 GP finishes, or the next day?

How quickly are tickets likely to sell out? Is it as stressful as buying festival tickets these days?

How is transport from the city to the circuit?

I’ve looked at some places to stay in the city so any recommendations for things to do around Budapest would be great too! I’d like to try and get us there for a week. We love history and exploring cities but also outdoor places, hiking, etc.
