I built an travel planner that suggest you places to visit based in your preferences and then builds a detailed itinerary with Google maps, food recommendation, booking checklist and other essential information
You can visit here: https://MonkeyEatingMango.com/
I built it because I hated travel logistics and none of the current tools, including wanderlog, worked for me
Here, I have tried to bound the decision with very few preference like params. User never has to type a long prompt explaining what they want to do. It is just 7-8 clicks, a source entry and it will generate the complete plan.
It provides Google maps route planning to give overall view of the day. The essentials like weather, booking checklist and visa/phone/electric sockets are also covered. You can see a sample plan here: https://monkeyeatingmango.com/itineraries/japan/tokyo-3-day/. I have added smart routing to optimize routing. It will even do the checks like family friendly places if you are traveling with kids, and a validation to see if place timings match with your plan.
Now, I am getting a little organic traffic from Google and some AI engines. I even got a few signups! I don't have a subscription plan but I am thinking of monetizing with affiliate booking, ads and probably some premium features.
The problem is that all of these marketing channel are performing very slowly. I have been on this for 2 months(spent 2 months before that to build) and I am still waiting for significant traffic. I am stuck at around 20-30 visitors a day.
I am a solo founder and I can sustain for some time, but is it too slow a progress? I am worried and kind of losing patience. I am here to get some brutally honest feedback on my idea and product. I am too attached to it, and getting some reality check might help :)
