Metroid on Switch NES slowing down with many sprites?

I never played original Metroid on NES, so I don't know, but there's a major slowing down during the Metroid scene when many Metroid spirtes come at once. The flashing and slowing down is real. This is evident throughout the game, but I think it's the most visible there.

Can anyone recall if this happened on real NES hardware as well?

What's up with Recharge Performance bars disappearing quickly on Canon batteries?

It's been about a year and a half since I bought 2 new LP-E6NH batteries. One came with R7, the other I bought separately. I didn't use the camera as much as I hoped - far less than before and when I turned the camera yesterday I noticed that both of these batteries have 2 bars for recharge performance. One bar went away just like that.

I have a hard time believing this is accurate. It's almost like they were programmed to lower their recharge performance at the exact date.
I made sure that each of these batteries remain charged, as I recharged them every 2-3 months, even if I didn't use the camera.

I also remember the time when I had regular LP-E6 batteries whose R. performance lasted years. And I mean literal years on 3 bars, with a heavy camera usage, as I was doing heavy stock photography back then.

Any clue on this? Does RP actually mean anything - are those bars made for batteries to die more quickly so we can buy new ones?
