Netbank login on PC no longer needs MFA from app?
Tonight I logged in on my PC and it went straight to my home page instead of the "waiting for approval" page that usually is displayed. At first, I thought I must have autopiloted the app verification, but I realised my phone wasn't within reach so that then seemed unlikely. When I grabbed my phone I noticed 2 commbank notifications, one of which came after my log in on the PC, neither of which related to the MFA process. I then logged into the phone app to check my notifications, of which there was none. For the sake of my sanity I logged out on the PC, then logged back in, and it went to the home page again without the need for me to log in and approve it via the app.
Have they ditched this security process? I'm not complaining because it has always been an annoying addition that felt like its real purpose was to push you to use the app over using the website (login and then 4 taps in order to confirm it's me? c'mon). I can't imagine they've actually taken onboard my complaint after the few dozen times I bother to complete their quick survey. My PC hasn't had any major changes or updates since my last netbank session, nor has my phone. So what's the go?
