You can't make this stuff up. You've been eaten alive by an alligator and your last words are in relation to your Dog Nutter Fanatism 😳

This lady tragically got attacked and died in a terrible way. But somehow, her final words are towards "fido" that 100 percent sure doesn't give a F about how will give him a slice of meat. I'm totally baffled.

I’m trying to update my DJM-A9 from its original factory firmware (v1.01) to the latest version, but I am completely stuck.

The mixer successfully enters update mode (holding BEAT FX CH 1 + TAP while powering on), but as soon as it looks at the USB drive, it just sits at 0% indefinitely and refuses to advance. The top USB port is definitely delivering power, but data isn't moving.

I have already done extensive troubleshooting to rule out the usual suspects:

• The USB Drive: Using an 8GB stick. I know the hardware of this specific stick works perfectly because I just used it to update my CDJ-3000s flawlessly.
• Format & Partition: Tried formatting in both FAT and FAT32. I also verified the partition table is set to MBR (Master Boot Record), not GPT/GUID.
• File Structure: The firmware file is completely unzipped, has its original name (no (1) or duplicates in the filename), and is placed directly in the root directory of the USB (not inside any folders).
• Mac vs Windows: I formatted and loaded the file using a Mac but made sure to use the "Show All Devices" trick in Disk Utility to wipe the parent drive to MBR. I also tried clearing out hidden macOS indexing files.

Since the mixer is on v1.01, is there a known issue with jumping directly from the very first firmware to the newest 2026 release? Does the A9 require an intermediate "bridge" firmware first? Or is v1.01 just incredibly picky with modern USB controller chips?

Has anyone encountered the 0% hang on an early-firmware A9 and figured out a workaround? Any help would be massively appreciated!
