Not sure what to do...
I just got a thermal label printer on Vine. I am not sure if a 3 star rating is too much, what do you think?
The "User Guide" was useless. Wants you to scan the QR code to download software. Can't do that on a PC, did they not think of that? Didn't even put the URL in the 2 small pages of instructions. Had to use Google.
Using their official driver installer and setup program it installed the printer as a plug-in hard drive. Yes, it did. Printing = error. Uninstalled and tried again. Still made the printer D:\
Tried to call TS. The fine gentleman with the Bangladeshi accent wanted me to give him remote access to my computer so "He could fix everything". Nope. No. Don't. I hung up the phone. He was so helpful he called back and when I declined the call he left a message begging me to give him remote access. Blocked the number.
Eventually got it to work by deleting everything and installing the printer manually, just pointing to the folder with the files needed and restarting the computer.
Even though I have no intention of ever printing from my phone I tried downloading their app but it kept glitching out when I tried to scan the QR code. So that doesn't work very well. Eventually deleted the app.
To add insult to injury the EIGHT sample labels in the box were unusable as they were not flat but permanently scrunched at one end. Luckily purchased some labels that work.
Printing is actually pretty good, once installed correctly. I'll keep it. Wish I could have the 4 hours of my life it took to get it working back.
But I don't want to leave a glowing review for something with such an awful install experience. How would you grade the product?
