First Keepsake Box - Help

First box I’ve ever made and apparently I’ve messed up the alignment. Thought I had everything planned out but It’s 0.05 inches askew, or rotated too much clockwise, when closed so the lid doesn’t sit aligned with the base. Little out of my league here with realignment/adjusting since the hinge holes are already drilled. Would really love some help or advice. The hinges suck anyway (Amazon, lesson learned) and don’t allow it to sit flush but I have no idea where I’d be able to find hinges with these exact dimensions that also sit flush. So I guess the gap stays. maybe add a maple strip in the gap all the way around? Any and all advice or help is appreciated. Supposed to be an anniversary gift for the missus so would really like to salvage it. Thanks!

Enough to call someone?

Single story house. Not sure how long these cracks have been there but noticed them today. Pier and beam, single story house. Both pictures are the same top corner of the doorframe from both sides.

Advice Needed

Almost done building my brother a desk and bookcase. Desk is already finished but bookcase is not. Was planning to use Hopes pure tung oil (I’ve never used tung oil) but was curious if anyone would say absolutely not or had advice for a better finish. Walnut veneered plywood and the trim pieces are solid walnut.

Finishing

Buddy is rescuing an old sailboat. Helping him restore a bit. Was sunk for 2 months. Sanded back down to the wood (not all of it yet). Wondering what kind of finish to use. Looking for waterproof and uv protection. I’ve read there’s a bunch of different options/combos but wanted some specific opinions. Teak and maple (I think). Side note, should I shove some wood glue into those cracks?

Re-finishing Help

Brother had a desk/shelves built in (either pine or cedar) and the guy stained it pretty poorly. Old Master’s cedar stain was used. And plenty of it by the looks. No pre-stain was used and no finishing sealant has been used yet either. I want to make it better. I was thinking to try and scrape as much excess off with a scraper and or mineral oil. Thinking I’ll probably need to sand no matter what? And if he wants a darker stain, just sand it all over and go for a reset? Pre-stain, dark walnut colored oil based stain, then polyurethane finish? Suggestions?

Credit Card Status = Credit Nights?

I am applying for a credit card. If the card grants me gold status, am I automatically credited 25 night credits? I am aiming for platinum every year. The card also grants 15 Elite Night Credits. Would the card give me 40 Credits every year (Gold Status + 15) or just 15 Night credits?
