It is too early in the summer for street harassment season already.
I walked up Yonge Street for ice cream and a few groceries tonight -- not dressed up, regular jeans and a tee-shirt, just wanted a walk and a snack and some pasta -- and it was eight (8), count 'em, eight dudes between Queen and Bloor staring at my chest, making comments, doing the hey-baby thing. One followed me half a block before I glared him down.
It is only May. It is not even hot out. I didn't even put on makeup because it's a holiday and I just wanted groceries. I don't know what's been going on with dudes downtown the past few summers, but I lived here during the years pickup artists were a thing and this is worse. It's making this neighbourhood unlivable. Sometimes people just want to get some pasta without playing incel Minesweeper all the way there and back. Let people live their lives.
