my new theory for how they’re gonna roll a season 2.
I think the plan right now seems to be to keep the merch, collabs, and most importantly BD/DVDs rolling out regularly from now till September. In the meantime the Crunchyroll and official anime pages seem to be posting shorts of the show so far.
They’re probably trying to keep the momentum of the show going till September maybe. I wonder if we might get teaser footage for a new season before any announcement drops. But it’s at least interesting to think about because doing it this way helps them buy time to assess the profits from all the merch sales. I mean this is probably still high copium though, because likely soon enough most people’s attention would fade. If they are going to continue this series I do think they would have to announce some new stuff before the end of this year.
another new merch launch i think?

Contents of the spoon.2di magazine
The magazine will feature an included A2 size poster of the back cover (photo 1), and it contains interviews with the Director, Nakamura and Hirose VAs, Art Director, and Colour Designer (photo 2).
Additionally, it contains an application form through which you can order the Nakamura and Hirose acrylic standee (only available in Japan it seems - see photo 3).

What does the scene between Niou and Otogiri mean?
So at the start of episode 10, Otogiri is setting math problems. He then tries to go for a smoke, only to run into Niou at the door. They then have a conversation about Niou’s running habits.
What does this scene mean? It seems totally unconnected to the rest of the episode.
What do we think about the odds of a season 2/volume 3 announcement at the Anime Expo next week? (2 July to 5 July 2026)
Basically title. Curious what you guys think now that the broadcasts are concluded and in light of the new merch that we’re seeing etc.
They're having another round of merch sales at this pop up shop

How many different merch sales is this now? It's kind of incredible. This one's of Hirose as an idol and Nakamura as a fan. The fan Nakamura's holding says "Let's be friends".
Syundei was the one who suggested Hirose’s “What’s my charm” line
The auto-translation is a bit bad, Aoi Umeki says he had Syundei look over the script, and Syundei suggested including a line where Hirose says “What’s my charm”.
The second paragraph, Umeki says it’s difficult for the anime team to make a judgment call to include a line like that on their own (presumably because it strays too far from the source material), so it was very important that that simple and punchy line had come from Syundei herself, and he’s grateful for that.
Furthermore, Syundei was also the one who suggested how the anime should wrap up. She suggested that since for most of the show it had been Nakamura chasing after Hirose (arrow pointing from Nakamura to Hirose), it would be good if Hirose could now also show his interest in/try to get closer to Nakamura (arrow pointing from Hirose to Nakamura).
It sure sounds to me that this is an author who still cares a lot about her characters, though it’s not clear whether these suggestions were made before or after she faced the social media backlash. But as far as I know, anime episodes tend to be produced on a weekly rolling basis, so this must have been quite recent (and do correct me if this is not the case). I have hope for more content in the future.

The last train (short fanfic via @ZM__zm__)
The following is translated from this post here: https://x.com/ZM__zm__/status/2069454215962104183?s=20
He did not have anything so grand as a dream.
If he had one, it was this: he wanted to become lovers with the person he liked. It was an utterly ordinary, yet impossibly difficult, wish.
And yet, astonishingly, Okuto’s first love had come true. Sitting beside him was the person he loved so much, the person he had fallen for at first sight when he was fifteen.
On their way home after spending the day out together, the two of them were swaying on an almost empty train. It was late enough that the last train would be coming before long. The lights of the residential streets shining through the window illuminated his face. It was a slow local train. When they were about five stops from their nearest station, their eyes were drawn towards the ticket gates.
“Whoa.”
Aiki, sitting beside him, also let out a short sound. In front of the ticket gates, in the direction they were both looking, was a man and woman clinging to each other. With no regard for anyone watching, they were kissing and flirting so intensely that it was practically at the level of, isn’t this basically foreplay!?
The train departed, and the couple disappeared from view.
“That was… something.”
Aiki looked half-exasperated. But at the same time, his hand tightened around Okuto’s.
“Yeah…”
The two of them whispered to each other in the corner of the empty carriage.
After staying silent for five seconds, Okuto opened his mouth.
“But, you know… I used to dream of saying goodbye like that in front of the ticket gates.”
“Wow! Okuto-kun, you’re quite the pervert, aren’t you…”
Aiki said it teasingly, and Okuto found himself flustered. Still, he replied as if it did not bother him.
“I am.”
“You already knew that, didn’t you…” he muttered. Aiki’s cheeks reddened slightly. Perhaps he had remembered what happened the night before.
The local train moved slowly, but surely, onwards. Before they knew it, they were about to arrive at the station just before their own. In the quiet carriage, Okuto was focusing only on the warmth of Aiki’s hand when—
“Nakamura.”
Suddenly, that hand pulled him. Okuto widened his eyes in surprise and saw that Aiki had stood up.
“Let’s go.”
“Huh?”
They got off the train just like that. It was a small station in the middle of a residential area, dimly lit with barely any proper streetlights. Once they stepped onto the platform, Aiki strode off ahead. Okuto, whose hand was being pulled, had no choice but to follow him.
“You said it was a dream, so…”
Aiki turned around. His eyes caught the light of a small LED and flickered. Okuto felt his palms suddenly begin to sweat. Even if he asked him to let go, Aiki probably would not. And to Okuto, that made him incredibly happy.
The two of them passed through the ticket gates. In front of them there was only a small bicycle parking area. There was not a single person around.
“Mm.”
Aiki spread his arms. With trembling arms, Okuto embraced him.
“We’re not actually saying goodbye yet, though.”
Aiki let out an adorable little laugh.
It had been a dream. Something he thought would never come true. One by one, Aiki was granting the wishes Okuto had held so dearly in his heart. It was almost troubling. Being this happy was troubling.
All he could see was Aiki.
As he silently felt the warmth of Aiki’s body, there was a clattering sound somewhere in the distance. Startled, he pulled away, but it seemed to have been only the sound of someone lowering the shutters of a house. He looked away in relief, and Aiki tapped him on the shoulder.
“Mm.”
Aiki tapped his own lips a few times with his fingertip.
After hesitating slightly, Okuto placed a kiss on those lips.
“Did your wish come true?”
“…It did.”
Aiki raised his voice and said, “Good!” Then he firmly took Okuto’s hand again.
“Hey, how about we walk home from here?”
“Yeah. Let’s do that.”
At Okuto’s reply, the corners of Aiki’s mouth lifted. Then he began walking as if he were practically skipping.
And then, for some reason, he burst out laughing with his mouth wide open.
“Sorry, sorry. I just thought, I’m so happy!”
Seeing his profile, Okuto opened his mouth, trying to say something clever, but in the end, nothing came out.
“Yeah… me too…”
He answered softly, and on the dimly lit road, they kissed once more.
It was one of those June nights.
