HONEST review of Southern Luxe Savon soaps
Hey fellow Redditors and soap enthusiasts! I have an honest review of Southern Luxe Savon soaps. The creator of the soaps is a good friend of mine, and she’s passionate about skincare without the chemicals. Before I continue let me be crystal clear : I’m not being paid to make this review, I just truly believe in the mission and was blown away by the product. All photos provided I took of the items I ordered once received. Now on to the review:
She sells soap bars in full bar form or in guest bar size. Both are equally beautiful in their own ways! So far I have tried the Rose Silk Noir, my girlfriend tried the Spiritual Gangster, and dad tried the Royal Miel! As someone with a highly sensitive sense of smell, fragrances usually are overwhelming or headache inducing. However, the scents in each individual bar were absolutely heavenly. Seriously, they smell amazing and you won’t believe me until you smell one for yourself.
The full size bars are huge and I can imagine it will last a long time. The lather is great especially if you have a loofah or even just a washcloth. I work long 10-12 hour days and get covered in dirt, sunscreen, sweat, you name it. By the end of the day, my skin is usually blackened by it all. I was optimistic but not confident this bar soap could tackle that at all but LET ME TELL YOU! It does wonders!! Not only has my shower time decreased due to not needing to scrub every inch of my body for a prolonged time, my sensitive skin has had no reactions and it feels so soft and clean after each use. For context, my whole life I will randomly get contact dermatitis from different things and most of the time I never know what, and I have to use special laundry detergent and skin soaps just to not get painful rashes daily. I’ve also noticed my skin is way more hydrated than before. I had so much dry skin but honestly it feels balanced since using this product. Not too oily but I’m nowhere near dried out.
I know a lot of folks like me have struggled to find a soap that gets the job done but doesn’t cause any allergic reactions, so this is another reason I felt compelled to make this review. Hopefully I can help someone cut their search short! She also carries specialty bars for facial cleansing, self-breast examination, skin sensitive goal milk bar, as well as shaving cream! There are more “manly” scents and soaps as well for any men in your life looking for something to make their shower and shave experience feel more luxury.
All in all: I give these soaps a 10/10 for scent, a 10/10 for cleansing ability, and an additional 10/10 for being safe for (my) highly sensitive skin. My girlfriend and dad give the soaps a 10/10 on all fronts as well. Please check out her site and feel free to add reviews to this post. It started because my friend’s mom is currently fighting a hard battle against cancer, and she couldn’t find anything “clean” to wash her in.
