From a third party perspective, this Ramos deal looks odd
According to transfermarkt, Milan paid €74m for Goncalo Ramos from PSG.
As far as I was aware, Ramos has not been performing well. In 1309 minutes of league play last year (low) he scored 6 Goals and got one assist. His goals came against teams like Metz (2), Toulouse, Marseille, Rennes. One of the goals is a penalty. He just turned 25.
I actually don’t hate the player and think he will be an overall good addition to Milan but how does it make much sense that the player goes for 74m? It seemed his stock had gone down since his transfer to PSG for 60m or so.
I understand Amorim asked for him but why would Milan agree to such a fee? It seems like a huge gamble. Ramos does not look like a record signing. Everywhere I look his value is around 40m.
How can this be justified?
