It's just a tradition followed in South Asia which has no religious backing or compulsion. Idk why people these days think of it as taboo when a woman doesn't want to change her LEGAL identity after marriage. Imagine having to change your cool ahh last name to to someone else's because "humesha sae yehi hota a rha hae"

There's so many beautiful languages spoken in our country. Though most Punjab school curriculums teach Urdu, English while elite schools also instill German and French. I'm all for learning foreign languages too but do you guys feel like our official curriculums should include optional elective languages like pashto sindhi saraiki etc?
Also I'm actively trying to learn these languages myself too so it'd be great if the native speakers could drop some advice and resources from where I can properly practise too.
Considering how anywhere everywhere in Pakistan, from the streets of Lahore to the mountains in the north, we can spot people smoking or engaging in nicotine addiction one way or the other, do you think there's hope to slowly lower our national smoking rate??
Ischemic heart disease is the leading cause of death in our country, and smoking is one of the primary causations. I understand there's so much more we need to focus on but I've always wondered if there's really a way to erdacite smoking culture from our society.
UK recently banned smoking for people born after 2009. Yes I know taxes wagera milta hae but can we talk about ways to actually help lower the rates rather than increasing revenue which doesn't benefit the common man.
I'd love to hear your guys view on this matter and any experiences/stories
