access to claude fable requires companies to disable their zero-data retention policies
really just incredible stuff.
>To ensure we’re responsibly deploying Mythos-class models, we are requiring limited data retention and review as part of our safety work. Prompts submitted to, and outputs generated by, Mythos-class models are retained for 30 days for trust and safety purposes, on every platform where these models are offered.
>This change only applies to organizations that have set up workspaces with zero data retention (ZDR) in Claude Console, use Claude Code with ZDR in Claude Enterprise, or access Claude through AWS Bedrock, Google Cloud Agent Platform, or Microsoft Foundry with ZDR. The rest of this article applies only to these organizations.
surely this is just theatre to get companies to fall victim to the fomo, and send their sweet sweet data to wario right? feels quite interesting that they don't trust organisations that the've signed these agreements with, while the model itself seems to be quite underwhelming in terms of its capabilities...
edit: noting that you can't just disable it for fable, you have to disable it for the entire workspace it seems lmao
Steroid-induced psychosis while taking prednisolone?
Last week I’d developed a rather bad bacterial infection that I visited urgent care to get treated. Alongside the antibiotics, I was prescribed a short course of an oral corticosteroid, prednisolone, to help reduce swelling and heal faster.
I was a little moody/irritated at first but after 2/3 days I quickly developed quite intense mood swings, intense rage, seeing things that weren’t there, and making threats. None of this was like me at all and it was extremely terrifying! Felt like there was a real risk to my life, and based on the little leaflet in the packet, I presented to A&E for help.
Turns out, there’s a potentially 5-6% incidence (Lewis DA, Smith RE. J Affect Disord 1983; 5: 319–32) of patients developing psychosis from taking medicine like this? It seemed to calm down thankfully as the medicine left my system but it was an extremely scary experience, I was acting completely out of the ordinary and I was worried about my actions.
I guess like- what’s the best next steps here for me really? Do I need to be aware of being more likely to develop psychosis in other situations? (both times I’ve had surgery under general, I had some hallucinations at night but just assumed that was quite a common experience). Is this something I need to be worried about or get checked out?
Should I have been counselled on the serious side effects when I was prescribed, and is there a way I can warn clinicians about this in the future in case they want to prescribe the same thing to me? I’ve made sure to report this to the MHRA yellow card scheme at least to try and make sure the data is collected.
Anyway thanks all :)
