Back Bar Refrigerator - Preferred Brand?

Hey guys, looking to buy a back bar refrigerator, probably a 2 door with glass doors. Just for sodas, NA beers, wine, etc.

We have kegerators from a brand called Micromatic that are solid and are really competitive on price.

That being said - you don’t know what you don’t know, so i’m wondering if it’s worth springing for a high-tier brand like beverage air or true for a back bar refrigerator.

Appreciate the insight!

Coasters: Where do you get them?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a place to order coasters?

Like everyone else - low minimum order quantity and quick turn around are the two biggest factors.

Thanks!

Oil-Heated Brewhouses?

Does anyone have experience with this type of heating for a brewhouse?

I saw a company advertising 10bbl versions and honestly, it would be nice versus having the price of purchasing/installing a boiler for a steam heated brewhouse

Are there any drawbacks? I suppose the oil heating the brewhouse is 300f so that’s something…or is it?

Thanks!

Flavoring Hard Seltzer to taste like Hard Cider?

We make a great hard seltzer base, and I’d like to make it taste like hard cider.

Why? Our go-to cidery has gone down in quality and up in price, and there just aren’t that many people seeking out hard cider anymore, yet enough that want that flavor profile

Does anyone know a good flavor from a specific company that can get us there?

We’d like to avoid adding straight N/A cider to our seltzer, but if that’s the best path, then we are down

Thanks guys!

IPA serving glass: what’re you using for Half pours and Full pours in the taproom?

We are looking to upgrade some of our taproom glassware

First question - what are you all using for “half pour” glassware? I’m not a big fan of filling the standard glass halfway, just not sure what options there are.

Second question - What do you use for full pours of IPAs? We use belgian tulips for IPAs and while they’re great, we’ve recently noticed more breweries opting for a straight wall glass - not a shaker pint but something with a slight curve?

Thanks!

Sanitize Carb Stone Day Before Brew? (UniTank)

We have always assembled/sanitized our carbonation stone setup on brew day and let the stone sit in boiling water for 15 minutes before putting it in the tank and running the sani loop.

We would like to switch to assembling/sanitizing the carb stone assembly the day before.

Is there anyone that does their carb stone setup the day before? I wouldn’t mind spraying the carb setup right before sanitizing the fermenter on brew day, but maybe that’s not even necessary?

Also - is there a “better” way you’d recommend approaching sanitizing our carbonation stone setup?

The worry is that if we assemble/sanitize/put it in the FV the day before, and that if it isn’t filled with beer the same day, that there’s more risk of it becoming a potential contamination point.

Thank you!

We have a shit ton of Perlick Flow Control Faucets for our tap system

You’re not supposed to have to break them down regularly, but anyone that uses them knows that you do have to

As a result of breaking down the faucets repeatedly over several years, the gaskets are getting torn up

As a result - the pieces don’t sit as flush/well as brand new, less so than the bullshit chinese faucets with no flow control\

  1. Does Perlick sell replacement gaskets for these faucets

  2. Will these faucets work as well as they once did, after replacing the gaskets?

Thanks!
