Epic Games account hacked, email changed and Xbox unlinked. Recovery form won’t work
My Epic Games/Fortnite account was hacked and the email address was changed without my permission. The hacker also unlinked my Xbox account, which was originally connected to the Epic account.
I’m trying to recover it through Epic Support, but I’m completely stuck.
I still have access to the original email address that was on the account, and I have old evidence of the account, including:
• Old Fortnite/Epic display name
• Evidence that my Xbox account was previously linked
• Old Fortnite Crew purchase receipts
• Microsoft payment receipts
• PayPal transaction information
• Previous Epic Games support emails
I previously contacted Epic Support about the hack and have a support case/reference number
I’ve now gone through the recovery process, but Epic’s Support Assistant is asking me for a Recovery Request ID beginning with “AR” followed by 18 letters/numbers to check my recovery request.
The problem is that I never received/found an email containing this AR recovery request ID. I’ve checked my email, including spam/junk, and can’t find it anywhere.
Epic’s account finder also couldn’t find my account using the information I have, and I don’t want to submit the entire recovery form again if I don’t have to.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Is there another way to get Epic Support to find my existing recovery request using my old support case number, email address, or purchase information?
Any help would be massively appreciated because I’m basically stuck in an Epic Support loop 😭
