This morning I played one game of BR, lost (came 39th), and then left for the day. This evening when I turned on to play another game my account said it'd been banned for 365 days for "exploiting".

The email from Epic calls it cheating, but I have no idea what happened!

I have read about this happening to others and then it getting overturned, but I did nothing wrong to begin with.

Firstly, I'm a very casual player (maybe play 1-2 matches per day), 50yrs old, and wouldn't know how to cheat in fortnite even if I could, yet this has somehow happened to me.

I have read some posts about it occuring to others, and yet I cannot comment on them (who knows?), but I know myself that I did not cheat.

I will be appearing this today, so will hopefully get something happening.

If you got your account hacked/stolen then epic's support returns the old Fortnite account to you with everything accounted for and you so happened to have made another account with purchases in them, would you be able to ask epic to merge the account's V-Bucks, Skins (generally everything you had on the new account) to be merged onto your old account they had retrieved or vise versa?

Hiya, has anyone else recently or in the past been hacked by a rambler email and had their email changed on their epic games account.

My email has been changed by one. I cant access by email but i can still login using my console account. I have sent a request recovery form on the day it happened I am just waiting for a response

So far nothing has happened with my account but wanted to ask if this happened to anyone else and if their account got saved or not and how long it took

If anyone is able to help it would mean a lot, I haven't had acsess to this account since 2023 jun 3 and i have no links to the account, emails, I bought nothing so no reciptes or anything BUT i do have some old clips of me playing on the account and I have the display names i've had on the account too. I was young at the time when my account got hacked and now that i know how to get it back im asking for help.

Recently I made a post on here stating that I contacted the BBB on my Fortnite account that was disabled without reason. Fortnite got back to me and I want to inform every one of their unprofessional service so far.

They got back to me in around a week. They immediately tried to close the BBB complaint and stated “we have contacted the player and will look at the situation”. Obviously I wasn’t satisfied by that so I decided to keep the BBB ticket open.

The next day they proceeded to email me that my account was permanently disabled due to violations and their decision is final. The thing is I never gave any information on the account I am talking about. I contacted BBB and Epic through a completely new email address. In my BBB complaint I gave nothing for them to identify which account i’m even talking about.

My view on this is that the man who “reviewed my account” didn’t even review anything and decided to be lazy and just say their decision is final.

Again this makes no sense because they have exactly no clue on which account I am talking about.

Very unprofessional and I’m not closing the case.

My FN account was banned a couple months ago. I appealed and it was a widespread error and FN reversed the ban and offered my v-bucks as a result of their error. Tonight, I was in duo match and got kicked halfway through. When I went to look, another ban. No warning email, no violations, and now it says I can't appeal because I have used my one appeal.

How do I get my account back?! Help!

es este, entonces voy y le doy a explorar y creo otra carpeta, pero me vuelve a salir el error de II-E1003, repito el proceso pero ya e intentado varias cosas y no funciona, si a alguien le a pasado lo mismo, pueden ayudarme a solucionarlo (si se preguntan e ido a esa ruta y no existe archivo o carpeta existente con ese nombre, incluso active para ver archivos ocultos o cifrados y no existe)

I’ve been trying for ages to launch games that i’ve been able to do before on epic games but whenever i’ve clicked on them nothing happens, i’ve tried verifying the files and that is stuck on initialization and ive uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing is working, any fix? this is on a laptop btw

Between August 15–16, has anyone else experienced the same problem I’m having with the Epic Games Launcher?

I’m making this post because I want to know whether I’m the only one experiencing this issue, or if other people are having the same problem as well.

The main issue I’m currently getting is:

Error Code: II-E1003 — Install Failed

This happens when I try to install Fortnite.

Before this started happening, Fortnite was working completely normally. Around 1–2 AM on August 15 (Thailand time), I was still playing Fortnite without any problems. I could close the game and launch it again normally.

However, there was one thing that I’m not sure is related: I was unable to enter LEGO Fortnite Odyssey. Some kind of error/message appeared, but unfortunately I don’t remember exactly what it said.

Later that day, around 4–5 PM on August 15 (Thailand time), I tried to play Fortnite again. I clicked Run/Launch through Epic Games Launcher and also tried launching the game through the desktop shortcut, but absolutely nothing happened. The game simply would not start.

So I decided to try the most basic solution: uninstalling and reinstalling everything. I thought maybe some Fortnite files had become corrupted, so I deleted the Fortnite files and Epic Games Launcher and reinstalled them.

After reinstalling Epic Games Launcher and logging in, Fortnite was showing “Launch” instead of “Install”, even though I had already deleted the game files.

I eventually found out that Epic Games was still detecting Fortnite through some leftover installation information.

The fix for that part was:

%programdata% / Epic / EpicOnlineServicesShared / InstallHelper

There were several files there related to Epic remembering that Fortnite was installed. I deleted them, restarted Epic Games Launcher, and Fortnite finally changed from “Launch” back to “Install.”

However, when I tried to install Fortnite again, I immediately got:

Error Code: II-E1003 — Install Failed

Since then, I have tried pretty much everything I can think of, including uninstalling and reinstalling Epic Games Launcher multiple times, but the error still appears.

At this point, I’m wondering if this could be an issue on Epic Games’ side, especially since Fortnite was working normally just hours before the problem started.

So I wanted to ask:

Is anyone else experiencing Error II-E1003 around August 15–16?

If you are, please let me know in the comments. I’d really like to know whether this is an isolated problem with my PC or if other people are experiencing it too.

And if anyone knows what is actually causing this error, I’d really appreciate any information.

I just want to play Fortnite again 😭

I have spent the whole day fixing a problem that was not a problem with my system.

If you're hitting II-E1003 when trying to install any game on Epic Games Launcher right now, read this before you spend your day the way I spent mine.

What happens: Click Install → II-E1003 within about a second. Doesn't matter which drive or how clean your setup is.

What I did, in order, over several hours (Windows 10 64-bit):

• Cleared Epic cache, changed DNS to 1.1.1.1/1.0.0.1
• Reinstalled the launcher — twice
• Ran as Administrator
• Tried different install directories
• Tested on mobile hotspot
• Freed up disk space (was down to 7GB free, got it to 25.8GB — made zero difference)
• Fully wiped Epic + Epic Online Services ProgramData and AppData folders by hand, not just uninstall
• Added Windows Defender exclusions for the whole Epic folder and process
• Click Install on essentially any game I tried (Fortnite, Metalstorm)

None of it worked. Same error, every time, instantly.

The evidence that this isn't a local PC problem: With Debug Logging on, EpicGamesLauncher.log shows this exact sequence:

UProductInfoJSBridge::Legacy InstallWithOptions called: Namespace=..., CatalogId=..., AppName=...
FAlertReporter: Reporting Alert code: II-E1003
UProductInfoJSBridge::Install: Unable to install ... - IsValid: true, App text: Please Wait

II-E1003 fires 65 milliseconds after InstallWithOptions is called — no network call, no EOS contact, no InstallHelper activity in between (confirmed by cross-checking the InstallHelper/MainService logs too, which show only routine idle enumerate calls, never an actual install task). The failure is occurring at the launcher's install-dispatch stage, specifically the path labeled "Legacy" InstallWithOptions. My launcher was on version 20.2.1.

I've also found several other people posting the exact same symptom in the last day, across different subreddits and different games — so this isn't isolated to one machine.

About the "downgrade to an old launcher via Softonic" workaround going around:

Some people are saying staying on Epic launcher v1.3.161.0 and refusing the auto-update to 20.x avoids this. I am not recommending you actually do this — downloading an Epic installer from a third-party mirror instead of Epic's own servers carries real risk (bundled adware, tampered files). Mentioning it only so you know what you're looking at if you stumble on that suggestion elsewhere, and can make an informed call instead of blindly running it.

My honest advice: don't start ripping your laptop apart because of this. I did the "wipe everything, reinstall everything, exclude everything" gauntlet so you don't have to. This has all the fingerprints of a problem with Epic's current launcher/install pipeline, rather than something local cleanup is going to fix. Don't reinstall Windows, don't nuke your user profile, don't go digging through the registry chasing confident-sounding AI-generated guesses that aren't actually verified (learned that one the hard way too).

Just wait for the next launcher update or an official fix.

If you're seeing this too, especially on Windows 10, drop a comment — would be good to compare logs and see how many of us this is actually hitting.

Today when i opened Fortnite it just didn't open. After a while, i just closed and open Epic.
When it opened again, it said Fortnite was "running" but it didn't appear on Task manager.
After another long while even after closing Epic with task manager or rebooting my pc, it still said "Running". So i decided to Uninstall Fortnite, but it got stuck on the uninstall window. It is just a blank line with a broken image logo. It doesn't charge and it is stuck there too, can't cancel it, and it keeps being like that too after reboot. I uninstalled Epic games, downloaded it again, installed it and the moment i opened it, boom, still stuck on "Running" and "Uninstalling" at the same time. Also, nothing else works. Any button that i press in Epic games it just doesn't do anything anymore.
Any solution?

The link is completely safe and official since it’s directly from Epic’s own support page.

When I tried to log in, I got another error, but I fixed it by using Task Manager to close any running Epic-related tasks, and then running the launcher as administrator.

And that’s it! I was finally able to install GTA V (this issue was happening to me with every game on Epic).

Quick tip: I recommend NOT updating the launcher. If it prompts you that a new update is available, just skip it / hit "No".

imagino que el link es de confianza y seguro ya que es desde la misma pagina de epic.
al momento de querer iniciar sesión me daba otro error, pero lo solucione cerrando con el administrador de tareas cualquier tarea abierta relacionada con epic y luego lo abrí ejecutándolo como administrador.
y ya, ya pude instalar GTA V (me pasaba con cualquier juego de epic)
les recomiendo no actualizar el launcher, si les llega a decir que hay una actualización nueva para el launcher denle que no.
