First time homeschooling

Hi everyone! I will be homeschooling my 5yo daughter kindergarten this year. Im a bit overwhelmed. I did a lot of research and purchased the Bob Jones University curriculum. It is a nice set but lots of info. I guess I’m trying to
figure out what is MOST important for a kindergartner to learn in this school year. What is less important? What system should I be using to see if she’s on track with other kids her age? I’m in California. Thank you!

Pond Products

Hi,
My husband and I have really been enjoying our pond journey. We recently upgraded our DIY pond to a 1400 gallon professional build. We are still learning so much, but we want to get more into the hobby. From a customer perspective, what are or is a specific product you notice is either outdated, needs rethink, or is missing from options to purchase? Is there a food or supplement you wish was better? We’re entertaining getting involved in products and I thought it would be interesting to see what the actual hobbyists want, need, or wish was available or made better. Please share, even if it’s something small! Thank you!

Baby fish

Any suggestions on what to do with baby koi and goldfish… especially when they reproduce a lot. I don’t really enjoy culling fish all the time :(

3 year old pneumonia

Looking for similar stories or bits of wisdom from other parents who went through anything similar. Short version:
3 year old with fever and lethargy last week. On day 4 of high fever 105 visited ER. Tested negative for flu RSV Covid. Sent home with zofran for vomiting. Appeared to get better but still had weird fevers. Pediatrician on Monday said possible pneumonia starting in lower left lung upon listening exam. No imaging at this point. Prescribed Amoxicillin
Toddler seemed markedly better and himself the following day after 2 amoxicillin doses.
Wednesday (yesterday) he seemed low energy and labored breathing. Could have been fast breathing due to fever return 104.
Went to children’s hospital. They admitted him because his white blood cells and CRP was elevated. Negative for literally every test you can imagine. They even thought the chest xray was very very minute for pneumonia if so.
During abdominal ultrasound they saw a 2mm lesion on his liver. It could be a cyst. It could be nothing it could be congenital it could be an abscess it could be an imaging error.
Now were admitted and waiting for an MRI with sedation for this liver spot.
Meanwhile my son continues to improve. No fever at all yesterday, or last night, or today 2pm Thursday. Totally back to himself.
All the docs are scratching their heads
Is this random finding on the liver not even related or is it related to the ongoing fever
Did we come in too early and the amoxicillin is just now beginning to really control the pneumonia ?
I know there’s only so much anyone could guess but I guess I’m looking for other stories about prolonged fever, pneumonia, anything like this and what your experience is.they don’t know when they’ll get the MRI done because you know… hospitals …. Anyway I want to get my son out of here. No fever for 24 hours and wants to eat and has been peeing pooping etc.
thoughts? Thank you for your kindness in advance it’s been a really stressful week as you can imagine
