What could be the reason for high rpm low speed. The roller are new btw.

I changed the 3 springs of the variator clucth with smoother ones since the original springs are realllly tight (typical sym variator). I have no problem with acceleration (almost zero vibration). The engine gets a little bit high rpm around 30-40 kph. There is no rpm indicator but I can hear the noise changed and got higher. If I keep the original springs it gets hard to climb the hills and consumption rises.
