Giving 5 unfunded builders our platform + hands-on help to launch their niche content or community-led idea. Cofounder here, AMA about the catch and let's go!

Hi. We've been building MainCross, a no-code network builder. It's a platform that enables you to run your site, content management system, community, newsletter, events with ticketing, online store, all in one place and on your own domain.

Thinks of it as a replacement and unified solutions for duck-taping a stack that looks like using "WordPress + Mailchimp + Circle + Eventbrite + Gumroad". Easy for you and the consumer.

We have introduced a Builder's Pass program, and I want to offer that to 5 people from here for the full version of it: up to 12 months free on your custom domain, personal onboarding (I'll help you set the whole thing up), and check-ins while you get to your first members and first revenue.

The honest catch: no money changes hands either way, but I want to connect with and support people who are serious about what they are building or want to: They have a sharp niche, skin in the game, and no VC funding (in that case you can very well pay for the tool). And you are open to sharing how the build goes, and talking about the tool in public. You do need to have your own domain, if you want it to be custom branded on your domain.

If you've had a niche community/media/membership idea sitting in your drafts folder, comment with the idea in one line or DM me.

All the best!

A no code platform that brings together memberships, events, mails, monetization and more.

The world of brands, professional creators and community builders seem to be converging.

  1. First everyone needed to create content and build a real audience. This helps acquisition.
  2. Then the attempt is to provide honest value and build a community around the shared identity, passion, pain point, product, brand etc. This helps with retention.
  3. And since online touchpoints are overwhelmed, offline connections and events are a genuine need. This provides greater thrust, momentum and association.
  4. Perhaps then you need product listing or subscriptions or ways to monetise or channel that membership / engagement for impact.

So you don't just need a blogging site, you don't just need a newsletter or an event listing on a third-party platform. You ideally need it all.

And while doing that in a fragmented manner can work when you start, it breaks when you scale. The load on the operator becomes immense, member experience scatters and a big part of the value remains locked for the member and the operator / brand / builder.

Frankenstack doesn't work.

For such instances, we think you need a tool that is integrated at its heart and is built with intention and the required automations, that allows user experiences and data to flow seamlessly.

That's what we've been working on with MainCross ProSocial+ and a lot of it has been built with early builders and founders.

What do the community managers, founders and builders here think about it?

Looking for a paid social media intern from Jaipur

Hi! I'm looking for a social media intern in Jaipur. Someone who gets digital and not just chases perfect aesthetics.

The focus is growing a page for a tech product - a no code platform to launch community sites, content hubs, memberships, subscriptions, event registrations, products, emails etc. Something that marries the world of social networks and static websites with say Gumroad, Substack, Luma etc.

Knowledge of AI tools is a plus. Given that this is social for a tech product, I don't want the person to think it'll be boring. The idea is to understand digital culture and build with it. For instance, look at a startup Kinso from Australia and the kind of social they work on. That's a direction we want to build towards.

Branding is important yes, but with this position I'm looking for someone who is keen to experiment, try new ideas and be aware of what's going on in the world.

- This is a paid internship role.
- Ideally Jaipur-based, though work from home and occasional office hours preferred.
- We'd also offer performance-based perks via partners such as one free bnb stay in Goa, vouchers etc.

DM to apply or learn more.

Are social and community really distinct? Social as the doormat, community as the door?

In many hiring posts, and conversations, I've found that one of the most persistent trend or confusion is around treating third-party social media and community as if they are the same thing.

An experienced community strategist I spoke with used this great frame to think about social and community.

>"Social media brings people to your doormat. Community is the actual door, to go deeper with the brand, deeper with the audience," says William.

So in a sense, social media is where discovery happens today. It is where you gain visibility. If you are building a community, perhaps social media can provide the first proof of concept, more like a signal that a group of people share an interest, a pain point, or a journey.

Is that how everyone views social and community as well, or is there a wider embracing of the community is everywhere concept in the market?

Builders and early-stage founders, this is for you.

Sometimes, one of the hardest parts of starting isn’t the idea, it’s building with ease and speed. Too many good projects get stuck while using multiple plugins, connecting tools or in almost ready mode. Sometimes its costs, uncertainty, or waiting for the perfect time. I've been guilty of that.

We built MainCross like a swiss knife no code builder to power content hubs, community platforms, memberships, events, newsletters etc. Every company needs to have media and first-party data today, but also ease of use for the operator is key.

We've now launched Maincross Builders Pass to give builders access to the tool at no cost for up to 12 months, along with personal onboarding and support.

If you’ve been sitting on a side project, community-led venture, membership idea, this is the nudge: stop overthinking and start building. Build, launch, iterate. Learn and keep going.

Curious what everyone here is building right now? I'll try help with how MainCross can be of use, only if its suitable. Thoughts on MainCross always welcome.
