1 month vs 1 year loc’d (3c hair)

had a few ppl w 3c hair ask how my hair looked before for reference :) the shrinkage is realll, definitely swapped out length for thickness but i just love how my locs are maturing. excited for many more years

1 year loc'd + first twist out

did my own 2 strands for the first time, been self maintaining my locs for the most part (loctitians are few and far between down undah). lowkey undercooked since i only left em in for 3 days, i want a lil more length before im comfortable rocking the 2 strands look. but otherwise how’d i do?

pretty happy with my loc growth overall! i palm roll to maintain but i’ve noticed some lumpy/bulbous sections towards the ends of my locs. they’ve rounded out a bit more as they’ve locked over time, but wondering if there’s anything else i can do?

i’ve tried crocheting and have seen a couple of locticians, neither of which really helped. i’m in australia so finding a reliable loctician is genuinely not easy :/ open to any advice!
