Spent 4 days in Yosemite shooting sunsets and nightscapes

For anyone looking to get into astrophotography, and for an excuse to spend a few days in YNP, the Ansel Adams Gallery has an amazing workshop you should check out!

Had a fantastic vacation in Munnar, KL!

This is OC

Background

I was born and raised in TN up until the age of 25 and I’ve been living in the US for the last 7 years. I try and visit family and friends at least once a year and have been keeping it up except for the two peak COVID years.

Itinerary

This was a 4N and 5D itinerary, starting and ending at Coimbatore airport. My wife and I landed into CJB and hired an SUV that would stay with us until it dropped us back at CJB on the last day.

We reached our hotel, Scenic by IHCL, at around 5pm on day 1. We spent the evening resting, getting dinner and going to bed early.

Day 2: quiet day at the property, exploring it thoroughly, and going on long guided nature trail hikes near the property. As this was a Saturday, we fully expected large crowds from nearby cities to rain down on Munnar and wanted to avoid them as much as possible.

Day 3: We took a guided tour/hike through a tea estate that was roughly 4km long and ended with a visit to a tea factory. After a lazy afternoon at the hotel, we hired a 4x4 to take us to Aanakulam and back.

Day 4: We did an early morning sunrise trip to Kolukkumalai (the highest tea plantation in the world). Though we couldn’t see a solid sunrise due to overcast skies, we thoroughly enjoyed the trip up and down as well as the views from high above.

Day 5: We had an early breakfast and headed back to CJB airport, which took longer than expected thanks to rough traffic through Munnar town.
