Do sellers actually have any protection on Poshmark? This return process feels completely unfair
Hi everyone, I really need some advice because I’m honestly pretty frustrated and confused by how this whole situation has been handled on Poshmark, and I’m starting to wonder if this is how they normally handle things or if I’m just very unlucky.
I’m a 5-star seller and have always had positive reviews, so I’ve never dealt with anything like this before.
I recently sold a brand new jacket. The buyer negotiated the price down by about 50%, which I accepted in good faith. After receiving the item, they opened a return request claiming there were stains all over it, and provided photos showing multiple marks. I was honestly very shocked because I know for a fact the item was in perfect condition when it was shipped, and I also have a packing video showing it clearly.
As soon as the case was opened, I immediately replied in the case thread (where both buyer and seller can communicate and Poshmark will review and make a decision), stating that I had a packing video and asking how I could submit it as evidence.
What’s really frustrating is that I never got any response at all. The message was just completely ignored, and the return was approved in favour of the buyer for “undisclosed stains,” without my video ever being reviewed or acknowledged.
I followed up with Poshmark support via email and sent the video again. I was given a very generic reply telling me to wait until the item was returned and then submit a report within 3 days of delivery.
Fast forward to now, I’ve received the returned item, and attempted to submit a “Report Problem with Return,” but the system keeps failing every single time. A weird message pops up every time I click submit. I’ve tried multiple times on both mobile and desktop, and it just won’t go through (I’ll attach a screenshot).
Has anyone experienced this error before? Is this a known issue, or is there any workaround?
At this point, I have to say I’m really disappointed with how this has been handled. It honestly feels like no one is really hearing what I’m saying — from the very beginning I made it clear that I had video evidence, but it was ignored and the return was still approved. Then I was told to report it within 3 days after receiving the item, but now the system wouldn’t let me to do so.
I was wondering if Poshmark has always handled returns like this — basically being biased toward buyers?
At this point, I genuinely feel like sellers have very little protection on this platform. It feels like even with a packing video as proof, it can still just be ignored. So it makes me wonder how I’m supposed to feel confident selling here at all, especially higher-value items.
Because if a buyer simply decides they don’t want something, it feels like they could just add a couple of stains and return it, and that’s it — they basically have full control.
Also, based on my past experiences reaching out to Poshmark support, they’ve never really been able to help. I honestly don’t understand what the 20% commission is actually for.
Whenever there are system issues or I need help with an actual problem, the response is always extremely slow, and in the end it usually turns into very generic replies that don’t actually solve anything.
It’s gotten to the point where I feel less and less protected as a seller on the platform.
I just wanted to ask — is this something other sellers have experienced as well, or is it just me?
