My male canary passed away, what now for the female?
Hello everyone,
My little friend unfortunately passed away yesterday at 11 years old (orange one). He lived together in the same cage with a female canary (she is 6 right now I think). She's living with my parents, and they don't really want to get a new bird, so she'll likely be on her own from now on. My younger brother is absolutely devastated, because he don't even remember living without this canary.
I'm worried that she won't adapt for a new situation. She saw his dead body, but still keeps looking around the cage like she's searching for him, which is worrying me.
I'm also a bit worried she'll become less tame around people - she's always been a little more shy, and he was kind of the "braver" one, so I'm not sure how she'll do without him for that.
Any experiences or advice would mean a lot.
