I need help

So, i have a canary, its been almost a year, it was a gift from my grandma and uncle, my uncle told me shes a female and beside that i dont know much about her.

Btw, i live in france and its been really hot here, so i keep my room fresh with a ventilateur (idk how you write it in english) and obviously every morning i give her fresh water and i give vegetables but today when i came in my room after lunch i see her on the bottom of her cage, i tought that maybe she got something on her feet so i take her out and look at her feets, but there was nothing, so i put her back in her cage and she didnt lmmediatly fly off, she usually hates when i get close, so that was really weird but what worries me the most is that she keeps going to the side and cant keep stable, i changed her water again and put her glass of water on the floor of her cage so she can wash up in case of if its because of the heat.

She didnt do anything so i put some of the water on my fingers and put it on her feather but it didnt seem to help.

i dont know much about canaries but i really love her so if you could help me that would really great (im waiting to see if it goes away and to see if you guys have any advice before taking her to the vet, if i see that she still does that tomorrow, ill ask my dad to take her to the vet, hopefully he will, i cant take her myself because im a minor)

Looking for pet canary advice!

Hi everyone! I have been interested in getting a pet canary, but when I try to research them, I only find info on breeding them. I was hoping the bird owners of this subreddit could help!

I have learned a lot about food, cage requirements, and proper toys in general for birds, but if there is anything specific for canaries, I would love to know!

Here is a list of questions I haven’t been able to find the answers for:

  1. I know that male canaries are the only ones that sing, but are there any other significant differences between male and female canaries?

  2. I’ve learned all about chop and pellets, but exactly how much should I give one bird per meal?

  3. If I only want one bird, are canaries a good option, or do they need a companion?

  4. How social are they with humans? Are they easy to tame and train? And what tricks have you guys taught your canaries?

  5. How much time do you give them outside of the cage? And how long is too long to leave them home alone?

That’s all I can think of for the moment, if there’s anything I didn’t mention that you think I should know, please tell me! Thank you all so much!

Need transportation bag, where canary spends several days. Size etc recommendations?

I see nothing wrong with buying 30-35cm X 25cm X 25cm(height).

I may travel for 5-6 hours at most and stay somehowhere else up to 1 week where canary will have to be locked in traveling cage entire time.

So if there are issues or something I must take into consideration please let me know

Favorite In-Cage Bath?

I recently got a canary about 3-4 weeks ago. I’m slowly making upgrades and I would like to get a really nice bath for my baby. Right now I’m using a Tupperware (😬) while she has her out-of-cage time and strictly monitored.

Any suggestions for a nice in-cage option? I see those “shower” types with the running fountain but not sure if they have any advantages over the clip-on attachments, or just standard baths, etc.
