Fabric busy book for my nephew’s 1st birthday

I sewed a completely handmade, fabric busy book for my nephew’s 1st birthday a couple months ago. I thrifted 95% of the materials and I was so proud to give it to him!

My nephew (and thousands of moms on IG) loved it so much that I decided to write it up and publish it as a sewing pattern so that others could make one for a special little kiddo in their life too 🩷

And so today, I released my first sewing pattern for Auntie Gracie’s Busy Book on Etsy! 🎉 I get emotional thinking about other kids receiving one of these books from someone who loves them and then playing with it for years to come!

I’m so proud of this book and the pattern that I wrote. I love sewing because of the peace and fulfillment that it brings me. I hope that my pattern can inspire others (even beginners!) to make beautiful and meaningful things with their own two hands 🙌

No pressure at all, but if you think you might want to make a busy book of your own, my Etsy shop is Auntie Gracie’s Studio ✨

Pokemon Jacket Dupe

Customized for a friend who was bummed to have missed out on the Kanto Region Pokemon jackets that sold out super fast.

Started by thrifting 2 sweatshirts, a tshirt and a tank top in the colors I needed. Then I hacked an old (also thrifted) McCall's sewing pattern into this final result. One of my favorite pieces I've ever made!
