where to find vintage inspired elegant women's clothing in 2026 with a coupon and is goelia actually quality or just aesthetic?

The vintage-inspired fashion category has brands that nail the aesthetic in photos but deliver garments that feel cheap in hand, and brands that genuinely deliver on both design and construction. goelia (sometimes listed as goelia 1995) positions as a retro-meets-modern women's brand with a distinctive look that stands apart from the usual fast fashion vintage aesthetic. Is the construction quality at a level where the garments hold up through regular wear and washing, and do the fabrics feel premium enough to justify the price over a thrift store find?

Sailor hat from a pair of trousers

Super happy with how it turned out especially given it’s my first sewing project after around 15 years!

Ideas for labelling my upcycled clothing and bags/scrunchies

I’ve been working on some upcycled pieces to sell. I haven’t labelled any of them with my brand name yet, what suggestions do you have - as sustainable as possible please? Getting some printed in a small batch to sew in, buying a stamp and hand printing them myself on scrap fabric to sew in, any other ideas? Thank you 🌸💗

Advice...

So I am dying this dress and my first attempt went great. Color was even, no splotchiness, seemed a little too pink for my end vision. Tried to get it more on the blue end of the spectrum of the color recipe I used and the result ended in me having a weird splotch where it wasn't before. My exact steps I took are below. The dress is polyester.

-Prewashed dress and kept it damp for dying process.

-Brought my pot of water (3 gallons) to 200 degrees F.

-Mixed colors as stated by directions/formula into pot making sure to combine fully.

-Added damp dress and stirred every 5 minutes or so for approximately 1 hour.

-Removed dress and rinsed in hot water gradually tapering off to cold as it ran clearer and clearer.

At this point the dress was too pink (see photos).

-Turned heat back on, added water so pot level was where it was and added more of the blue I used.

-Mixed thoroughly before adding dress back in

-Stirred for about 30-35 minutes and removed.

-Rinsed and this is where the dress had the splotch.

-Panicked.

-Put dress back in for another 35-40 minutes.

- Rinsed like I did before. Still had the splotch.

Came here. Help please. The dress is currently still wet as I post this hoping to get a quick assist.

I used Rit Dye More if that also helps.

Washing And/Or Ironing Clothes when they are thrifted and you are flipping them. Yes or no?

When flipping clothes purchased at thrift stores- do you wash and/or iron the clothes? Like jeans, cotton dresses/pants/shirts?

If you do pop ups with designer clothes from thrifting - do you wash and/or iron those?

I iron and steam. But was just presented with this question and thought I should get opinions.

Satin lined scrub caps out of a kid's hello kitty dress

I wanted hello kitty fabric but didnt like the ones I saw at hobby lobby/michaels and when I went thrifting I saw a small kid's dress for $4 just sparkling at me lol! I got two scrub caps out of it: a regular scrub cap and a pony tail one. The light blue satin is just a flat bedsheet I've had for a while and don't use at all. I followed Meghan Grace's DIY scrub cap tutorial on YouTube. This was fun! A nice break from trying to pattern make/ draft garments and stressing myself out 😂 tried my best to iron the shirred part of the dress but I'm not too bothered by it

Made these patchwork shorts using reclaimed fabrics.

I’ve been getting back into sewing and experimenting with wearable patchwork pieces made from sustainable fabrics, giving materials a second chance instead of letting them go to landfill. I’m really proud of myself and just wanted to share since I don’t really know many people who sew.

Help finding men's button front shirt tutorial/pattern?

Feel like I'm going crazy! I saw a tutorial or pattern a while back for upcycling a men's button front shirt into a women's top, dolman-style. Thrifted the perfect shirt for it and now can't figure out where I saw the original idea!

The image in comments is similar, but I could have sworn that other version had the buttons on the front and a different yoke shape.

Any recommendations for creators to look at/patterns to look for? Thank you!

Denim vest… collar ideas needed!

I made this from a pair of my husband’s wrecked denim jeans, a tee of mine from high school, and a fat quarter from a pack my bestie got me for Christmas last year. Just started vibe sewing last night and here we are.

So, now I need a collar. What do you think would be best? I’ve got fabric left from the original tee (the white jersey), darker denim, and a variety of other colors and weights. Best suggestion so far has been structural mustard/olive-colored fabric which I do have on hand.

(Apologies for yellowish bathroom lighting!)

Best Bet Part 2

Hey Goodmorning! I wanted to show off my progress of my inspo pic. A week ago I posted asking for advice on how to get my plain pre made shorts to look like my inspo pic. Thank you to everyone who took the time out of their day to give me advice!😁🙏 as you can see I killed it!! I made it as neat as I could due to me needing it done by today{sat may 9}and having work. It has a matching corset if anyone wants to see it. But the outfit is finished!!
