venus appreciation post

gosh, this album is so good, yet so underrated. this always tends to be the case with more underrated albums (positions (it only started getting positive reception recently. iirc, during its release it received a lot of hate), singular acts I & II, solar power, found heaven, laurel hell), so they never get the appreciation they deserve.

anyways, i just want to ramble a bit about venus because i ADORE it! i would give it a solid 9/10. the healing is my favorite song on the album, and is def one of my fave songs of hers overall. next are end of time, venus, on my love, and ammunition, all tracks i absolutely love and def up there in my top 30 zara songs. even the songs i ranked lower, can’t tame her, escape, you love who you love, more than this was and nothing, are still bops and i like them a lot. i would even rate none of these guys, my least favorite, an 8/10 because it’s still good.

idk if i prefer venus over midnight sun (probably not), but it’s still a fantastic album, and i really wanted to gush about it 🫶🏻🫶🏻

anyone having issues logging in to anything?

i tried logging in to my housing portal and it says i signed in successfully but don’t have access to this resource. it’s the same for any other UM-related page (like when i go to sign up for the q&a). anyone else experiencing this issue? i remember them saying that on the 10th at 5pm they’d be doing maintenance. could that be it?

hi! so, i recently got accepted into University of Miami and i’ll be majoring in motion pictures/film. i’m also hoping to take a few classes related to graphic design since i want to create my own animated series someday.

in my case, would it be better to take film and graphic design as double majors or just keep film as a major and leave graphic design as a minor?

i’m not as passionate about animation/design than i am about film, which makes me want to take it as a minor instead, but i still like it a lot.

i’m also not sure how heavy the workload will be for both, since i’m pretty sure they both focus more on projects and the like.

if not graphic design, what other major/minor can i take that will still be useful in the long run?
