Vacation in cartagena

So my wife and I were supposed to go to Cancún for 2 weeks, one of those all-inclusive situations where you basically don't have to think about anything. Easy. Done. Booked.

Then out of nowhere she changes her mind and now we're going to Cartagena, Colombia. I don't know which coworker got in her head but here we are lol. And look, I'm not even mad about it, and I'm not really worried about safety either. We're from Harlem, NYC, so we're not exactly fragile. My wife is Venezuelan and speaks Spanish fluently, and the friends joining us the second week are also Spanish speakers so we'll be fine on that front.

But here's my actual problem, what the hell do we do there for TWO WEEKS?? 😂

I've been on Reddit nonstop since she told me and the comments are all over the place. From what I can tell the main beach is basically a vendor gauntlet so that's probably not the move. I'm guessing we hop on a boat to the islands nearby to actually swim? And maybe check out the walled city at some point? But two weeks is a long time and I literally just found out about this. Anyone been? What did you actually do with your time there? Appreciate any real advice, not the tourist brochure stuff.
