If beta-alanine helped you…

…what was your delivery method for the beta-alanine?

As a community, have we isolated the variables here? I’ve read several people saying beta-alanine helped them, but that their delivery method was an energy drink, so we can’t be sure it was the beta-alanine that did the helping.

I’m really curious about this.

I’ve had Hell’s Itch three times in my life, and two of those times I sought medical attention. My last episode was Spring 2011, but I had some unprotected sun exposure today, and I’m just feeling a bit nervous.

Looking for a custom “Open Road” style hat.

I know ORs can get a little controversial around here sometimes. I own 3: a 6X Silverbelly, a Royal Deluxe Caribou, and a straw. There’s a lot to like about a stock OR, if you ask me, but there are three big changes I’ve always wanted to make:

  1. raise the crown to 4 1/2”. The standard 4 1/4” always feels like it doesn’t come down deep enough on my head.

  2. Broaden the brim to 3 1/4”. The standard 2 3/4” is just a bit too short.

  3. Also, I don’t love bound brims. Would love to get rid of that.

But I love the “snapped up” brim look on the standard OR, and would want to keep that look. I also really like the feel and stiffness of the current 6X weight. Ideally I’d want to either match that or best it.

Who’s making hats like that, O Hive Mind? I really appreciate y’all’s help.

Anybody have any luck with the 10877?

Have recently gotten interested in these, because they come in an H width. I currently have an 875 in E2 width, but it still squeezes too much on the sides. My 1907s in E2 are great, so I’m wondering if the 23 last in an H width can approach the E2 width of the 45 last. Man, that’d be a killer combo.

Hi everyone, I've read a bunch of the threads here about Cat 6 vs. 6a vs. 8, and I basically understand why people here recommend 6 or 6a (or sometimes even 5e). Nevertheless, my situation is a bit unusual.

I'm in the middle of a major professional audio/video studio buildout at my house, and I'm trying to plan out network cabling in the walls before we begin closing them up at the end of this week. My networking needs are not extensive: I'm mainly trying to run ethernet from my home's router (provided by my ISP) which is in a different part of the house up into the attic and down the inside of one of the studio walls. Total run would be less than 75ft. There are really only two major complications:

  1. There could be significant EMI/RFI - even though the electrical (which we just finished installing) is thoroughly shielded, there will be a lot of electrical signals and audio and video signals being sent all over the place in the studio room. I need to make sure there's little to no leakage into/out of the ethernet cabling.
  2. The install needs to be as future-proof as reasonably possible in terms of speed.
    1. This is not a situation where I could just tear out a section of wall 10yrs from now to update the network cable.
    2. Currently, I have (and am using) 2Gbps up and 2Gbps down. Who knows how ISPs will grow speeds in the future, but I want to have the option of going faster in the years ahead.
    3. I may want to add a NAS to the networked system sometime in the next year or two.

So it seems that on the one hand, Cat 6a might be fine. At less than 75ft, I should be able to get up to 10Gbps, yes?

But what about the extra shielding in Cat 8? What about the possibility of faster-than-10Gbps? That could be helpful with a NAS.

I've ordered 75ft each of Cat 8 (UGREEN), Cat 6a (Cable Matters), and Cat 6 (Cable Matters). All with all copper, no CCA. They should all be here on Tuesday. The plan is to install network cabling on Thursday of this week, and then begin closing up the walls. I'm thinking I may want to install two lines so there will be some redundancy in case a cable goes bad at some point in the future.

Again, I know this is an unusual situation, and maybe I should be posting this to a different subreddit, but I'm hoping for some advice from the hive mind here. Which cabling would you go with, and why?
