"Achieving this one is making us so, so happy - but we are not going to stop"

What's in your fridge, Villans...?

Big night, big beers here - had to be. There's a nod to our Belgian contingent with the Orval, a few thematic ones with "Let's Go Away" and "Ours To Keep", a plea to our mental wellbeing with "Unwind", the nearest I could get to "world's number one" (well, without a Westvleteren 12) with "Seagull King" and then a few for the claret/blue hue. Plus a big dirty imperial stout in case things get really nasty.

Not pictured: slab of Spanish lager as a nod to Unai, and a mate joining us is bringing the limoncello (she's very confused but I've promised to explain). McGinn is covered with a bottle of single malt.

Been slow cooking a joint of brisket (in a Murphys stout broth as a tribute to Paul McGrath) since 9.39am too, house smells amazing.

If you're at home tonight, what you got going on?

Reminder - and a rallying call

I don't begrudge any of us a whinge or moan after fixtures like the last few league ones - I share your disappointment and I don't want this coming across as "toxic positivity", but...

Through the season I've often referred back to this thread, where almost every respondent admitted we'd happily "do a Spurs" if it meant lifting the Europa League trophy this season.

Fact is, we're in the Europa League final and so so close to lifting that trophy - perhaps unbelievably close when you go back to September and how we were all feeling when that post was made.

Compounding that: we've achieved that place in the final by doing far better than Spurs (or United for that matter) did last season. Through all of our injury woes and haphazard recruitment, we've got there while maintaining an enviable position in the PL. I'm gutted we didn't do the business against Burnley yesterday, but I have to keep pinching myself about the fact we're playing a generation-defining fixture against Freiburg next week. I was in nappies the last time we were in a European final.

It's really important to not lose sight of how massive a factor this is, how big that game is and how we all need to focus our perspective on that and getting behind the team who are 90 (/potentially 120) minutes away from lifting a trophy.

Emery has done this before, with similar "underdog" teams, in this very competition. After the Spurs game I did a deep dive on Sevilla and Villarreal league performances in/around the time of their Europa winning SF and finals and it made for really interesting reading. If you have time, I'd urge you to do the same.

We have to trust the process, we have to believe Emery knows what he's doing and we have to give the players a touch more credit if they're taking more caution on the run-in to possibly the biggest fixture of their careers so far.

Big up all of you, piss and moan all you like but pick yourselves back up sharpish and refocus on the big task in hand. We all saw on Thursday how this team excels when they've got us as vocal as possible as the 12th man.

This looks very intriguing and slightly nuts (bit like the man himself really, haha). Appears to be a traditional football documentary blended with a series of animated segments.

Really looking forward to it!

Drops May 28th on Netflix. 🍿
