A Fib Cure book

Thank you to the group for recommending this book. What a great and inspiring guide to dealing with AF. I read it on a plane ride. Laid out a good gameplan to start with. One will never know for sure how things will progress but great starting point as really the physicians don’t give you this in any detail.

Couple comments :
I thought the same eating plan lacked much protein and there were no eggs in the meal plan. This seemed odd to me. For those who workout and lift weight, high protein diets are recommended these days.

I liked the idea of tracking all the BLAST items. Is there anyone who has spreadsheets for this already made or a place to access such spreadsheets. This would be greatly appreciated so thank you. 🙏🏽

New to AF- advice

Hi everyone, very glad I found this group as it has been so helpful. 56 yo male , healthy and exercise regularly. no meds or other health issues. March 18 developed AFib late at night. Thought it would pass but didn’t so drove to the hospital and was cardioverted. Blood thinners for a month. Had all the usual tests done -echo, stress test, holter monitor- and had a follow up with the cardiologist 2 weeks ago. He said my heart was great and everything was normal. So i asked what’s the cause. We discussed dehydration and possible triggers. I’ve been doing my own research as well. I kept exercising and have been feeling good and then 4 days I woke up and felt a bit off and then when I went to work I could feel the flutter again. I was hoping it would pass as it didn’t feel as intense as the first time. Went to the hospital and cardioverted. I spoke so the cardiologist the next day and he said it is too early to consider ablation with only 2 events. He recommend the pill in the pocket and we discussed figure out my triggers. I ordered the AFib book that we recommended here.

The paranoia after the events is the worst. i have kept working out but constantly monitor my HR on my watch. Any unusual feeling in my chest gets me on edge. the hyper awareness was getting much better and then i had the second event. ughh. The psychology of this can be draining but really trying to be normal as i can be.

Here are some questions i have :

  1. what are people’s triggers ? i think mine might be overeating as both days i had large meals. I rarely drink alcohol and i might have caffeine once per day.

  2. I’ve been under a great deal of stress - legal, family stress - i think this may be a factor. Anyone else have stress induced A fib?

  3. After being cardioverted both times i have been light headed and dizzy. It passed after a 3-4 weeks the first time but has returned. Did others get this and any thing that helped
4.right away i have noticed ED as the blood flow is obviously weaker in the extremity’s. This sucks. it came back after a month but now it’s so noticeable again after the second event. This part sucks !!
Thank you in advance and grateful for the advice 🙏🏽
