I'm trying to figure out a very specific technique used in this performance.
He plays a very fast repeated figure on the G string.
The whole thing happens in roughly half a second.
I'm wondering what is actually happening mechanically.
My questions:
How does he produce an audible pitch?
Is the muting primarily done by the fretting hand, the picking hand, or both?
Is there some kind of finger rolling / pressure change involved rather than simple hammer ons and pull offs?
I've uploaded a 0.1x slow-motion recording of the relevant passage because the normal-speed video is almost impossible to analyze.
If you've ever played this kind of rapid repeated trill, or if you have a good understanding of how this technique works mechanically, I'd really appreciate your take. Even a description of what your fretting-hand fingers and picking hand are doing during the release would be extremely helpful.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this!
It's on It's stand not plugged in what should I do
Hi not sure if this is the right place to post this! I was just messing around and made up this sequence of notes on my own, I think it sounds pretty cool. Does anyone know if it's a scale and if so which one?
Thanks!
Should I return it
Taken from one of his latest Instagram posts, I was skeptical as usual but figured I'd watch at .5 speed out of curiosity, I was genuinely blown away. Guy is on a whole nother level and needs to be slowed down to be truly appreciated because our minds are just too slow to comprehend it.
Threw some clips together hope you enjoy it
