I signed the lease only three weeks ago. I called up today because someone spray painted over my car park number with their own number (okay) and they informed me that they don’t look after this property anymore. I asked if they could pass on the new real estate agency details and they said they didnt have it, and I should have already been contacted.

I don’t want to piss anyone off cos its kinda a rough area but now my car is parked in the next street until I can contact someone :/

Its okay for now, but what am I supposed to do when this happens? I’m concerned something urgent will come up and I cant contact the real estate lol.

I don’t even know where to pay my rent to 😂

Hello fellow renters. I had my shower (just the screens) replaced and re sealed about a month ago because the water from my shower leaks into the bathroom below me. This has been a problem for over a year.

Anyway last week I found mushrooms growing on the inside and outside of my shower. Informed the real estate and kindly requested a different tradesperson to who replaced my shower.

Honestly he is really nice but he has told me he has no plumbing or bathroom maintenance experience. He installed the shower upside down and didn’t notice until I said something… The shower is also leaking out the bottom which was reported too. But they ignored my request and sent him anyway.

He just had a look at it and claimed the mushrooms are feeding on my shampoo and its my fault that they are growing. But he’s plucked them out and resealed the shower so it should be good to go since apparently the downstairs leak has stopped.

Am I wrong in thinking this is clearly a temporary fix to a much larger problem in the floor? Like the wood is rotting? I dont know how mushrooms can grow out of nowhere from shampoo.. and I am a very clean person and the bathroom is washed every week. Regularly putting mould spray on the roof as mould grows there too.

I want to request that they

1. Send someone else
2. Do a proper investigation

Im honestly worried about my health. But I’m really unsure what rights I have to request this and if they even have to listen. Unfortunately have a really good deal on rent and can’t afford to move at the moment. Maybe in a year but I’m stuck here until then at least
