GRAD AT RISK
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to see if other grad students are getting wrong info from financial aid advisors right now.
My academic year started on May 18, 2026. In my portal, my package is fully accepted and broken down exactly like this:
- DL Graduate Plus Loan: $38,083.00 (Accepted)
- DL Unsubsidized Loan: $20,284.00 (Accepted)
- Status: 10 - Legacy Packaging Information
My actual disbursement is stuck past July 1st because of the university's system migration backlog. My advisor just told me that because the system won't payout before July 1st, I am about to lose my graduate loans completely.
NU's official upgrade page explicitly says aid will be "maintained securely" and only faces "temporary delays." The system transition shouldn't erase an accepted loan.
- Is anyone else tracking a Grad PLUS or Unsubsidized loan being told they'll lose it?
- Are your advisors completely blind under this new system backlash?
- Has anyone gotten a supervisor to manually force it through the federal COD system?
