My mk7 gti decided to spin a bearing so I’m used car shopping. There are some decently priced low mileage 2024 R’s popping up but I’m debating holding out a year for a used 2025. Is it worthwhile?

I plan to keep the car ~10 years.

MK8.5 plus’s:
- Some extra HP that you probably won’t notice?
- Upgraded infotainment - yes it’s huge but seems like a better system
- Headlights - From what I read they are adaptive meaning they turn with your steering wheel did the previous ones not, I’d find that surprising.

Not sure if anything else is worth mentioning? Aero and styling seems very minimal.

I wouldn’t be taking advantage of tuning on the 8, or the upgraded exhaust on the 8.5.

I’m ideally looking for someone who has driven both to chime in.
