Landscaping for privacy
Hello Erie!
Quick question about getting some more privacy with hedgerows and/or evergreen trees:
I love my house, neighborhood and Erie community, BUT, (and I’m sure many of you can relate) dear lord my backyard has absolutely no privacy from about 6 adjacent houses! So, we barely use it.
I’m looking for options to plant some shrubs or trees to at least mitigate this issue. My brief research has led me to a couple viable options (blue arrow juniper, green giant arborvitae, etc.) but I wonder if someone out there has already solved this issue and can advise?
Key considerations are HOA compliance, drawbacks I’m not considering (too shady, accidental-fortress-effect, roots affecting fence, foundation, or neighboring yards/foundations, dry climate issues, cost, speed of growth.
Anybody have any tips? I’d like to get to planting.
Also, other solutions are welcome. We have a gazebo off to the side yard but it does nothing for privacy. I’ve considered a retractable awning, what else?
Thanks all, have a great day
Hey y’all I am hoping to hide some basement rough in plumbing pipes- so I can utilize the space better in our man cave, BUT: keep the option of adding a bathroom if I ever decide to open my wallet. Attached is a picture of the rough-in pipes. The plan is to cover them with a piece of furniture. I’d like to cut them down further and cap them. Will that affect the future usability? And how short can I cut? Thank you for your help.
