Sanity check for simple lithium setup
I am designing a setup in a medium/large SUV. To start with, I only need to power 2 ham radio transceivers with an alternator-charged auxiliary battery, but I want to oversize the system for future expansion.
Based on my reading of this subreddit, the Orion XS manual, and other sources, I *think* this diagram is correct. I have some experience with electronics and home electrical systems, but all that I have been reading has made me second-guess my assumptions. Is there anything wrong with this schematic?
I'm also unsure about mounting. My current plan is to mount extruded aluminum rails to a 8" x 12" piece of plywood that is industrial-velcroed to the plastic lining of a little cubby in the cargo area, then attach the Orion and the fusebox to the rails. I have seen videos of people just mounting the Orion XS straight to a piece of unpainted/untreated plywood, but the manual says to mount to a non-flammable surface. Am I overdoing it? Underdoing it?
The double fusing on the FTM-150R seems weird, but the radio comes with inline glass fuses on the power inputs, and it seems like it can't hurt to leave them there.
Thanks in advance for any comments or advice!
