Chris Vui doping ban and testing in competitions around the world.

The Chris Vui doping ban for using Nandrolone raises some interesting questions for me. From his own submission to Court of Arbitration of Sport:

  • "infrequency of testing (nine samples over seven years, with a gap of almost two years before the positive test)."
  • The Appellant’s evidence is that he used (or may have used) up to 35 supplement products in Samoa in the period shortly before sample collection (July-August 2023). These were largely provided by the Samoa national team.

The questions this raises are:

  • How frequently are the lads tested in any competition, if a lad can play 57 games(two years) for his UK Premier Rugby Club, and country and not get tested ?
  • What sort of supplement regime is typical at club, country level?

Alternatives to Aviva on home insurance

Ive just got my renewal from Aviva on home insurance. Somehow with no changes or claims from year to year they feel a 22.4% increase is somehow justified. Who are you all using?

Erasmus names purpose-driven squad for second Bok alignment camp

Some great young names in this alignment camp: Paul de Villiers, Riley Norton, Bathobele Hlekani, Zekhethelo Siyaya, Jaco Williams, and Haashim Pead.

Also some of the older names in this alignment camp; good to see Papier being recognised for some great form.

Two upcoming games against Barbarians and an SA A squad in preparation for the Nations Championship

Marie Biscuits and strange toppings

My other half just broke out the weirdest combination, at least to me. Marie biscuits with slices of cheese on. Is it an appropriate time to issue a written warning ?
