Will there ever be a cure to dry eyes?

It’s just crazy to me that there’s war going on and development of advanced technologies to send people to the moon and on and on but there’s still no public awareness to this incurable disease.

I feel like by the time there’s cure to dry eyes I’d be super old or done with life.

I just feel like venting whenever my eyes are dry asf and realized I will be like this for the rest of my life. Life was so good before dry eyes. Now I can’t even step outside without my eyes feeling dry asf.

Alpine day used to be my favorite event of the year and now I don’t even feel like going anymore because my eyes almost killed itself from dryness. The worst part is I’m only 20 I don’t want to spend the rest of my life with insufferable dryness. Every memory I make from this point on will be mostly dry eyes.

Please if anything that helped you share with me. At least I know I’m not alone in this.

Causes of dry eyes

I wanna hop on and ask how everyone got their dry eyes disease.

Even though I'm not 100% sure, but I know that i got dry eyes since middle school because growing up i never had a regular sleep schedule. i used to stay up every night and sleep after school. the dry eye symptom has always been mild when i stay up, and goes away when i take a break from screen or had a full night sleep. until high school, i decided to take AP classes and i had to wake up for the early morning sessions. Although i had to wake up early, i never decided to sleep earlier. my irregular sleep schedule remain the same. i used to stay up till 4 am doing homework and sleep for three hours, wakes up at 7 am. my eyes were slightly dryer, but it didn't bother me as i continue to use cooling eyedrops i got from japan.

Eventually the summer before college, i started using face wash and toner that contains salicylic acid, which ended up drying out my eyes significantly to the point i cant wear makeup at all or else i get severe dry eyes, and if i don't wear make up i still get mild dry eyes. i refuse to go to eye doctor because last time i went i ended up spending 500 dollars for all the test they did on me, just to tell me to switch up my makeup product. (thanks doc, should of spend that 500 dollars buying new makeup products)

I regret so much of exploiting my healthy eyes when I was young. Now that I'm at my prime age of 20, i cant even go outside without feeling pain, and i can't wear makeup to look good.

I’m wondering what caused your dry eyes?
