I completed my very first Nuzlocke!

I completed my very first Nuzlocke!

First off I apologize for the photo. I didn’t think I’d be one of those people who takes a picture of their screen with their phone, but here I am.

I just want to talk about how much fun I had. I didn’t realize how a Nuzlocke would breathe new life into a game I’m very familiar with and have played multiple times over the years. The excitement seeing what my next encounter would be, strategizing routes, using Pokemon I would never think to use in a normal play-through, the anxiety that came with every battle. It was all so much fun. And surprisingly difficult too!

Not seen here is Wigglytuff, who I had to retire before the Elite Four, but a key part of my run, coming in clutch a few times.

Also an apology goes out to Hitmonchan and Starmie. You were my first choices but I was careless and let you die. I lost others but these hit particularly hard.

As for my actual team, only Muk and Lapras survived to the end. I was severely under leveled for my rival fight. Every partner who died contributed to get me to the end and they will be missed.

I might try and breed these guys to transfer over to Sword, or Pearl and try another Nuzlocke.

This was so much fun!

Edit: I forgot to mention their names!

Onion the Venusaur, Bolt the Jolteon, Nessie the Lapras, Hexxus the Muk, Mimiem the Mr. Mime, and Reaper the Aerodactyl.

In LeafGreen is Jolteon worth running for the Elite Four if I didn't get Bite?

I am about to face the Elite Four. I've put together a team of Venusaur, Muk, Mr. Mime, Aerodactyl, Lapras, and Jolteon. The question is "is Jolteon worth the slot?"

He has a Modest nature with the moveset of Thunderbolt, Thunderwave, Sand Attack, and Rain Dance. I am thinking about swapping Rain Dance for Substitute. His Thunderbolt can hit like a truck, but honestly that is all he can really do. I don't have a Meowth for Pick Up so I can't get a Hidden Power TM.

I don't have a lot of choices though, I lost a lot of my first choices. And the rest don't really have ideal natures.

This is what I got:

Weedle, Onix, Drowsee, Magikarp, Voltorb, Sandshrew, Ditto, Vulpix, Poliwag, Paras, Venonat, Doduo, Krabby, Horsea, Slowpoke, Tentacool, Pikachu, Tangela, Mankey, Geodude, Zubat, Ponyta, Exeggcute

Out of those I think Horsea, and Onix have their ideal natures. Krabby, and Poliwag have a neutral nature. The rest have natures that decrease their main stats.

I recently restarted a run due to some bad luck and poor encounters. So before I start a new run I had a look at the encounter tables to see what might be available.

I noticed that on Route 2 there is a possible trade for a Mr. Mime. Yes you have to give up an Abra for it, but I prefer Mr. Mime for the bulk and utility.

But on Route 3 there is a chance that I can catch a Nidoran if I manipulate the encounters a little bit. If I catch a Pidgey on Route 1 or Route 2, and a Spearow on Route 22, playing with species clause it leaves me with a greater chance for Nidoran. Of course this means I will miss out on Bellsprout on Route 5 if I choose to trade for Nidoran Male.

And on Route 4 do you typically take the early access to Magikarp, or do you wait until Vermillion City?
