How much faster do you go on race day?

Hi, did my first ever half marathon at the weekend and a bit disappointed with my time. Training went kinda badly with a few spells of injuries/illness and I was really sick a few days before the race so I didn’t have high expectations and wasn’t in the best condition so took it easy and just had fun but can’t help feel a bit disappointed as I’d still done quite a lot of work for a very slow time.

One thing I have questions about is “race pace” in general though. Used Runna for a training plan and practically all my long runs were done at a conversational pace with occasionally small sections at a faster pace. How do you go from training like this to then running at a faster pace for so long? And how much faster than conversational do you tend to race at? I want to do another half marathon in the future because I’ve definitely learnt a lot from this process and hopefully can have better luck in the week of the race which should improve my time a bit but I don’t really understand how to go from running 18k conversationally in training to on the day going at a tough pace for so long?
