Unexpected weaning symptoms..

Hi all,
I slow weaned my daughter for several months and finally fully weaned about a week ago. The symptoms have been WILD! Quite unpleasant. What are some symptoms you’ve had when weaning that you didn’t expect??

Weaning symptoms & support

Hi there, I’ve been having a really hard time mentally (and physically) since weaning my daughter. I have been thoroughly evaluated medically and am beginning therapy, but I could really use a chat with someone who is either going through this currently, or has been through it in the past. This is really hard, I’m wondering how others got through it without getting discouraged.

Edit: I should also add that meds are unfortunately not an option due to side effects.

Has anyone else experienced feeling absolutely awful when weaning/dropping to the very last feed?

I have been having non stop panic attacks/intrusive thoughts, nausea, loss of appetite, chills, insomnia, racing heart, muscle aches and more since last Saturday! I have been to the ER twice and all labs are normal - no fever, no virus to speak of. At first I was completely lost as to why all of this was happening, then it hit me that I had skipped 2 nights of breastfeeding(was already down to a single 15 minute feed) and I think my milk is drying up.

Has anyone heard of anything like this? I had bouts of low mood/moderate anxiety when weaning my son years ago but nothing quite like this. I’ve been taking hydroxyzine to take the edge off, but I hate how it makes me feel and it really doesn’t help much. Help!! How long will this last?! 😩

Basically what the title says - after 2 c sections in a span of 10 years, a minor surgery, heavy periods and extended breastfeeding, I find myself with a ferritin of 11 in serious need of relief.

I have been suffering from debilitating anxiety and panic attacks and I’m unsure if it is low ferritin, fluctuating breastfeeding hormones, or histamine intolerance that is driving it.

Many of my symptoms do line up with iron deficiency, but I have so much fear surrounding the infusion I’m unsure if I can go through with it. Some of my symptoms have been:

Chemical feeling anxiety that comes out of nowhere
Dizziness
Extreme light-headedness
Headaches
Vision changes
Chest tightness and occasional pangs
Occasional shortness of breath
Fatigue (particularly late afternoon)
Tingling hands/feet
Panic attacks and near fainting episodes
Random impending doom thoughts
Nausea
Bloating after meals
Constipation
Unusual reactions to supplements
Itching
Thinning hair
Extreme hangnails

I’m sure there are more but that’s what stand out most. I have been testing thoroughly, my doctors are all incredibly sick of me. Thyroid is fine, CBC normal, EKG normal, I’ve really been through it with the testing.. The only things found have been low normal zinc/copper, slightly lower vit D, and low ferritin.

I’m worried that because I have a tendency to have histamine reactions, and I’m sensitive to antihistamines, that the injection might cause problems for me. But - more than any of that I am terrified that it will increase my anxiety and panic episodes and I just can’t handle that. It is one of my last options to hopefully get some relief so I’m just in a really hard spot.

I am not currently on any meds, nor have I been if that helps.

Really hoping for some positivity before I chicken out on this infusion!! TIA
