7/22/26 Crowd and Attendance Trends

I know it’s a rivalry match, but it’s really good to see that we’ll be looking at a strong crowd for Wednesday’s game!
Weekdays are ALWAYS a tougher sell than a weekend.

Our first ever regular season sellout might be a stretch. But can we get to 3,000? I actually think it MIGHT be on the table!

I’ll say this, if we DO hit 3,000 (2,992 to be exact), we can officially say we have a higher attendance THIS year over the first 9 home games compared to LAST year. And we’ll be looking at MUCH better weather Aug-Oct compared to the start of the season so we’ll actually be in really good shape to show an increase in attendance 2026 vs 2025, despite us honestly only showing slight improvements in the table.

Note: this is REGULAR season attendance, so this is NOT counting the benefit of NYCFC coming to town or even the first Cosmos game. So any fan base growth coming from either of those is on top of this.

Looking at USL1 attendances this year, there’s a lot of decreases so if we can show our fan base is growing, that will only look better for us and our team! We have a real chance to do that!

Weather looks great for Wednesday, and we should have a lively stadium based on what I’m seeing! Hope to see you there!

Do you want MSG Opening Night?

Why do I have a scary feeling that we’re opening the season next year at MSG and our team will have to watch them raise their dopey banners?

The NBA likes a good storyline and since the Knicks really didn’t have much playoff “drama” (they swept two rounds and the finals was a short series), ESPECIALLY if we somehow DO get Trae Young, what better way to stick it our team than have us watch a nauseating banner raising?

Would you favor this? Do you want the chance to ruin the party and set a tone for next season or would you rather have us avoid the spotlight and allow potentially better self-focus and “move on”? My vote is the latter but what do you think?

Petition to Play a Nets Preseason Game in NJ

https://c.org/r9rmLm8tPG

If you think the team should go back to New Jersey: Sign this as it's your chance to show that there is STILL a fan base in the state and perhaps it creates a little bit of a buzz on your side. At the very least, it creates a little bit of an event for what would otherwise be a completely meaningless preseason game

If you think the team should stay in Brooklyn: Sign this as it could be used as a celebration of Nets history. This upcoming year is the 60th season of the franchise's existence (starting as the New Jersey Americans) and we JUST completed 50 seasons in the NBA. Every team celebrates their history and there should be a connection to its past. We're more than established enough in Brooklyn now that we can pay homage to ALL of Nets history.

Could easily play this at Prudential Center in October. Make it against any team that would work logistically; and there's PLENTY of precedent to the Nets playing home preseason games in other arenas. We've played at Nassau Coliseum YEARS after the team moved from there. Honestly I don't see a downside to this. At the end of the day, it IS only a preseason game. Why not throw a portion of the fan base a bone?

Thank You New Jersey Devils!!!

Perhaps I’m wrong to think this, but as someone who is also a Nets fan (and hates the Knicks), and is questioning the life of his franchise right now, it makes me ESPECIALLY appreciative of what the Devils have been able to accomplish since 1982.

Yes we have 3 Cups, which is pretty great, but we have developed a clear identity that is uniquely ours (something I CANNOT say about the Nets). Our players are largely proud to wear the crest, our alums come back and want to represent the team. We may try to take good ideas from other teams, but we do it OUR WAY.

And yes, I am ESPECIALLY proud of our fan base these days. Being a Devils fan means something different. We don’t have “celebrity fans” and we don’t need them. We have our own fan community complete with our own traditions (you might find the woos annoying, but there’s NO better feeling than yelling a woo in an opposing arena and getting a response from another complete stranger in a Devils jersey).

And we’re PRESENT. With the exception of the Rangers (and even then, we’ll have our share of fans in the Garden), NOBODY invades our arena anymore that doesn’t have us returning the favor. Even when the Rangers are doing well, we’re not seen as hockey worldwide jokes without an identity.

So yes, this year sucked for us. The 80s sucked for us. But we have a franchise that’s been built to withstand dark periods and rivals’ successes. The Nets are showing us that shouldn’t be taken for granted.

Thank you Devils!! For the players, culture, AND community you’ve given us to throw support behind every year………whether we win the cup, or those buffoons across the Hudson do.

Northeast Regional Host

While it’s fairly obvious that the Northeast lacks the college softball pedigree as other parts of the country (especially the South and West), was curious if it’s even feasible for a school to host a regional/super?

Has it happened in the past? In theory, you have to be a Top 16 team to host, but is there a facilities requirement also? I’d think a school like Penn State with size and money would have had a chance to host over the years.

As a Fordham fan who’s been able to see one of the better programs in the Northeast over the past 15+ years (10 A10 championships) is it reasonable for me to dream of me being able to see us in the tournament without having to get on a plane?

How was Spring Weekend this year? How was the vibe on campus? Good turnouts for all the events? Us alums were jealous you guys got Natasha Bedingfield and Victoria Justice in particular.

Hopefully the weather did not put a damper on what most would see as the biggest weekend on campus.
