Feelin' pretty good

Anyone else feeling alright right now about our position going into the season? The met doesn't look all that scary, our boys are healthy and we've got some new firepower. For the first time ever I'm excited to see Lombardi and others duke it out for spots in preseason. Excited for Daws and Allen to become a star duo and for Luke to take his game to the next level.

Expectations have been high for us in years past but I feel like we will thrive with more reasonable expectations.

I also have a tingly good feeling about Quinn. Sunny left an open seat for him and I'm not buying the Quinn owes Billy G narrative at all. I think we might get him this summer. I think we will.

Trying to play out scenarios and signing with us seems to be the only logical decision aside from the 3 year deal everyone is talking about.

Trade Quinn to another team that's not the devils? Too risky for the other team at year end

Wait until the trade deadline to trade him? Less leverage than now

So I feel like we've got a really good chance.

Anyone else with me on this enthusiasm?

Cool Hockey

I was looking to buy a hockey jersey, as I haven't had a new one since the CCM days and we want to attend more games this season. What's your overall opinion on the jerseys and service from coolhockey.com? I spotted this one and it didn't fill me with confidence (lol - I'm getting a Hischier anyway).

Terry, Grandlund, or Kreider

It seems the Ducks are in a pickle with Cutter stand off? Which one would be the best option for us if possible?

Free to Read: New Jersey Devils are No. 22 in NHL Pipeline Rankings for 2026

2. Alexander Command, C

June 16, 2008 | 6-foot-1 | 186 pounds | Shoots left

Drafted: No. 12 in 2026
Tier: Middle of the lineup player

Skating: NHL average
Puck skills: NHL average
Hockey sense: NHL average
Compete: Above NHL average
Shot: Above NHL average

Analysis: Command is a two-way center who ticks a lot of boxes. He’s a strong skater with quality offensive skills. He can make creative plays with the puck, but he does so in a direct manner to the net. He also has a great shot that is a threat from mid-range. He’s average-sized, but quite physical and wins a lot of puck battles. He has the traits to be a middle-six center.

3rd Alternates

Since I have no artistic capabilities I thought I’d design some AI slop 3rd alternate jerseys after seeing the Islanders are letting fans design and vote on the new Islanders alternate jersey. Obviously need a lot of tweaking. Porkroll one is just for laughs obviously we won’t put a Sandwhich on our jerseys. Unless…

Trip to Buffalo 12/26

Wife and I decided to do a trip to the Sabres game on 12/26. We're thinking of doing Amtrak up on 12/26, stay in Buffalo over night, and Amtrak back to Newark Penn on 12/27 for the Bruins game. Anyone else interested in doing the Amtrak back-to-back?
