Morality of defence work?
I visited a different (still C of E) church last week. They broke into small prayer groups, and one person in our group prayed, as far as I can remember, for people building missiles in Bristol to repent from this (the church is not in Bristol, but within commuting range of it).
I have been aware of campaigns against defence industries since at least the mid 1980s, but I was surprised at this, because missiles produced in Bristol have been fending off the Russians in Ukraine, and because most political parties seem to think that the current time is one for increasing defence spending, not abandoning it out of principle. What proportion of the C of E believes that those with the skill to build e.g. Storm Shadow missiles should have refused to do so?
