Guy breaking pride flags.

Hi everyone. I use the intersection of Newcastle way and 134th ave everyday to walk to the grocery store and every year in June folks from around the neighborhood put pride flags in the crosswalk walking flags bin. Always found that to be super neat. This morning some asshole decided light refraction was too scary so he broke them over his knee. If anyone is feeling kind I was hoping they might come out and help me replace them. I only had a couple at home. (I contacted the nonemergency line but not sure how much they will help).

Where to post for tutoring

Hey everyone,

I’m a local elementary school teacher (specifically a 3rd-grade specialist) and I’m looking to pick up a few private K-5 tutoring students on the side over the summer. I specialize in early literacy/reading frameworks and elementary math.

I plan on doing in-person sessions at local libraries (like Newcastle or Issaquah) or traveling to clients' homes nearby, but I had two quick questions.

What is a realistic hourly rate to charge around here? Is $70–$85/hour the standard for certified teachers in this area, or am I aiming too high/low?

And where do parents actually look for tutors? Besides the usual giant sites like Wyzant, are there specific local Facebook groups, Nextdoor neighborhoods, or even physical community bulletin boards (cafes, grocery stores, community centers) around Issaquah and Newcastle where hanging a flyer actually gets seen? I'd love to keep things as local as possible.
