How long did your bathroom remodel actually take?

Curious what people's real experience has been with bathroom remodels here in Issaquah. There's always that initial estimate you go in with, but I feel like the actual timeline rarely matches it — whether it's scheduling, permits, materials, or just unexpected stuff that comes up once things get opened up.

If you've remodeled a bathroom recently (or not so recently), how long did it actually take from start to finish? Did it line up with what you were told at the start, or was it a different story? And if it did take longer, what ended up being the main reason?

Mostly just curious how common this is or if some people actually get lucky and things go smoothly.

Need some help regarding tenant rights.

We have rented an apartment in Discovery Heights, Issaquah Washington. We live on the second floor, and since we moved in, this situation has been extremely difficult for our family. I have a 2-year-old child, and whenever she simply walks around our apartment, the downstairs tenant starts banging on the ceiling or walls. This often frightens my other child and creates a stressful environment in our home.

We have reported this issue to management multiple times. While management has encouraged us to cooperate but they cannot do anything related to that, we are already doing everything reasonably possible. However, it is unrealistic to expect a 2-year-old child not to walk around the apartment throughout the day.

What is most concerning is the impact this is having on my children. The constant banging and tension are causing anxiety and distress, and I am worried about the emotional effect it is having on them.

I sincerely wish that either management or the downstairs tenant would show some understanding and compassion for our situation. This issue could be resolved much more easily with a reasonable and humane approach. Unfortunately, despite six months of complaints and efforts to cooperate, nothing has improved.

We simply want to be able to live peacefully in our home without our children being frightened for engaging in normal, everyday activities.

Can someone help me with what our rights here? I don't want any drama but a solution.

Thanks for reading the long post.

Be aware of Lowes Parking lot

They have installed 4 Flock cameras alone, on top of the already installed security, FLOCK is used by I.C.E and should not be supported. The city of Issaquah will not publicly install FLOCK so the store would've had to install these themselves.

All three active cameras are pointing at entrances. Fourth was taken down by a good Samaritan.

The Home Depot ALSO has four, shop at fred Meyer or the Grange

Issaquah Highlands - The Vibe for Families

My wife and I are considering relocating our family (6 year old and 4 year old) to Issaquah Highlands and would love some honest opinions from people who actually live there.

We have two young kids and are looking for somewhere that feels like a real community, not just a nice collection of houses.

Our priorities are:
\- Great public schools
\- Lots of families/kids around
\- Walkability — coffee, restaurants, parks, groceries, etc.
\- Trails/running and easy access to the outdoors
\- Friendly, down-to-earth neighbors
\- Good food/coffee nearby
\- A community where it’s relatively easy to meet people and make friends
\- Diversity and a generally welcoming/progressive atmosphere

The Highlands certainly seems to check a *lot* of boxes on paper. My biggest question is the social vibe. Does it feel friendly and relatable, or does the wealth/tech presence make it feel unrelatable/“in a bubble”?

Would especially love to hear from families who moved to the Highlands from somewhere else. What do you love about it, and what do you wish you knew before moving?

Gilman Square Found Cat

Coyotes run rampant here, and I see them inside the complex and along Newport frequently, especially in the summer. Please don’t let your cats become coyote food & think twice before letting them out, because coyotes won’t. This cat is obviously loved (and had a pink collar, if only I’d been able to get close enough to look for a number to contact). please try to get your outdoor cats inside before you go to bed, nobody wants the guilt and despair of having a pet never find their way back home:(

Tennis - Looking for hitting partners

Hey! Looking for some people to hit/play tennis with around Issaquah.

I’d say I’m intermediate at best — I played for a few years, took a bit of a break, and recently decided to get back into it. I usually practice solo against the hitting wall at Tibbetts Valley Park, but would love to find some people to rally with and play the occasional casual match.

Happy to play at Tibbetts or other courts around Issaquah. Pretty flexible on skill level as long as you’re up for a casual hit!

Feel free to comment or DM me if you’re interested 🎾

Edit: Should've included this originally, I'm 34M

Personal trainer for strength training / lifting?

Would anyone recommend a good personal trainer (PT) nearby for a beginner looking to get into strength training / lifting? I've been doing pilates for a year, but looking to incorporate more resistance training at this point (ideally someone who's female for comfort - I'm also female!)

I tend to do better and stay more consistent with a PT over classes, so a PT recommendation would be ideal!

Bus from highlands to Bellevue college

Hi there, my son is a high school senior who does running start and will need to get to Bellevue college M-Th for classes. He recently totaled his car so we’re having him take public transportation. He claims this will be too difficult with the 554 route being canceled and we should figure out another car for him. Will this be doable?

Desperately looking for advice/services to find missing indoor cat

Hi everyone,

I’m posting on behalf of close friends whose indoor Bengal cat has been missing for five days in the Seattle Issaquah area. We’re trying to do everything possible to help them find her as quickly and effectively as we can.

She is an adult female Bengal, around 10+ lbs, and normally an indoor cat. She escaped through a window while my friends were away and has not been found despite extensive searching around the neighborhood, talking to neighbors, putting up flyers, and continuing to search nearby areas.
We are especially looking for professional lost-pet search/rescue services, K9 scent-tracking or cat-detection dogs, experienced pet detectives, humane trapping assistance, or anyone who has successfully recovered a missing indoor cat in the Seattle/Puget Sound area.

We have already tried calling a local lost-pet tracking service but reached voicemail, so if anyone knows someone we can contact quickly who is currently active and responsive, we would be incredibly grateful for the recommendation.

If you’ve been through this before, we would also really appreciate practical advice on what worked: where to concentrate the search, best times to search, cameras/feeding stations, humane traps, scent strategies, or anything else we should be doing right now.

This is particularly difficult for my friends because they unexpectedly lost their other cat to a congenital illness earlier this year. Having another cat disappear so soon afterward has been devastating, and we really want to help them bring her home.

If you know any local rescuers, trackers, organizations, volunteers, or other resources we should contact, please share their names or tag them here.

Thank you so much for any advice or help.

Is this your dog walker?

If this is your dog walker/dogs on Couger Mtn he had some big, angry, man emotions about being asked to pick up after the dogs, said women should mind their own business, and then encouraged the dogs to bark/lunge at my friend and I. Do with this info what you will, I wouldn’t want him walking my dog.

554 to Lumen Advice

Hi r/Issaquah, Eastern WA resident here, coming over for the Seahawks game on the 15th and would love some input from those wiser than I.

Would taking the 554 from Issaquah be a less stressful commute to the game than driving into downtown Seattle?

Swinging right to turn left

Is it just me, or is Issaquah worse than other cities for this? Specifically the Highlands. Almost every single time I am driving down Highlands Drive in the middle lane (either direction) I have to watch out for people turning left because they feel like they need to swing right before their left turn. The streets aren't THAT narrow that the teslas and BMWs couldn't handle the turn if they just slowed down to appropriate turning speeds. My full size truck makes the turns just fine and I don't have to scare those in the lanes to my right.

Western-Style Pet Portraits on Front St. This Saturday

Two ink illustrations of cats in western clothing within an oval cutout on a pink paper background. The illustrations are encompassed in a kraft cardboard frame.

Hello, I'm Blayne Fox, an illustrator, comic artist, and host of the Eastside Sketch Society, a local art community in Issaquah. I have over a decade of professional illustration experience in picture books, graphic novels, commercial illustration, and, of course, commissions.

My art booth is taking a summer off, but for this Saturday only (4 pm-8 pm), I'll be taking pet commissions, including "Western-Style" pet portraits where you can turn your beloved pet into a vintage-style illustration. These hand-drawn, 5"x7" original illustrations pack personality and craftsmanship into every piece at an extremely reasonable rate of $50 per portrait. They are also protected and transported in a cardboard frame that can be swapped out easily for any frame of your choice.

A perfect gift for that animal lover in your life!

Any affordable barbers near Issaquah?

Any affordable barbers around here or nearby? I work for a living and I ain’t trying to spend $80-$100 to trim up the little bit of hair I have left. I don’t need a whole hot towel, straight blade, etc experience. I just need someone to clean up the edges.

Just editing to say thank you to everyone, did not expect so many suggestions! I’m gonna try the guy down by dollar tree
